My favorite bread option

The Enameled Cast Iron Sourdough Bread Oven has completely transformed my sourdough baking experience! First off, the craftsmanship is absolutely stunning, and the beautiful purple color adds such a lovely touch to my kitchen. The quality of the pan is top-notch, and cleaning it is effortless, which is always a huge plus.Every loaf of sourdough I’ve baked in this dutch oven has come out perfect - crispy crust, soft interior, just how I love it. I use a silicone bread sling for easy handling and add a couple of ice cubes to the dutch oven before closing it up. This trick helps it hold steam beautifully, giving my bread that wonderful crust that’s so sought after in sourdough baking. While I do own a round Le Creuset dutch oven, this bread oven has officially become my "go-to" pan for all sourdough baking. It’s specifically designed for bread, and you can truly see the difference in the results. If you’re serious about sourdough, I can’t recommend this pan enough - it’s worth every penny!

Perfect for Sourdough!

I now have both the 5qt and 7qt versions of this Enameled Cast Iron Sourdough Bread Oven (I got blue and purple). I’ve been using the 5qt (14.2" x 5.4") for my sourdough already, and it is absolutely perfect for getting that great crust. The 7qt (15.7" x 5.9") is a nice size for larger loaves or other cooking. I actually had to return my first 7qt because the enamel was chipped right out of the box, but the replacement is in perfect condition. Why I like it:Bread Performance: The 5qt has already proven itself—it’s the perfect size for standard sourdough loaves.Versatility: Beyond bread, I can see using these for roasting or meatloaf.Compatibility: They work on my stovetop and are oven-safe up to 500°F.Design: The purple color is beautiful, and the looped handles make it easy to move in and out of the oven.Just a heads up to check the enamel when it arrives, but once you get a good one, it’s a fantastic addition to the kitchen!

Great sourdough bread baker

I love this item. I can cook two loaves at once in it. It works well. I have beautiful loaves thanks to this bread oven. I have had mine for a few months and it works great. It is heavy and sturdy. I use it weekly and it doesn’t chip. I have used it for round and thin loaves. So versatile in the loaf size. It is easy to clean and easy to use. I would definitely purchase this again.

Great dutch oven for baking sourdough

Been baking with this 5 quart vessel a few times, I am happy to report my bread came out perfect each time. I usually make small loaves so this size is sufficient for my needs. The enamel coating makes it easy to clean. The first time I used it I did not bother to use parchment so my bread ends up sticking to the bottom, however it might be due to not preheating the dutch oven prior baking. It creates even heat distribution thoughout baking. Baked bread at 230°C, bread turned out amazing with crispy crust and soft crumb. It bakes efficiently and although it kinda heavy (not as heavy as a regular dutch oven), this is a great product to add in your kitchen. Totally worth every penny.

One of the best Dutch Ovens for Bread Baking.

Excellent oval Dutch oven for crisp bread recipes. Purchased when it was on sale and the quality is comparable to much higher end Enameled Cast Iron pans on the market. Cast Iron is fantastic and durable and for bread baking where you want and need a very hot (500°F) oven it is one of the only materials that you do not have to worry about it cracking or breaking from temperature changes. That along with it being enameled is extremely easy to clean with just soap and water. I have been baking sourdough breads for many years and have many different Dutch oven pots made of Clay, Ceramics, steel, and seasoned cast iron. I have had some of the Clay and ceramics over time and use in very hot ovens crack. The ONLY bakeware that has held up is the cast iron. Cast iron absorbs and retains the heat and will not crack over time. This Dutch oven is cast iron and has enamel coating. It has a good seal between the top and bottom which then allows the bread to keep the moisture while baking and provides an excellent crust. Over-all this is an excellent Dutch oven with enough room for up to a 3+ lb. bread loaf. Attached is a picture of a Rye Sourdough bread made with a sourdough culture who's mother culture goes back a few hundred years.
