Good size and sturdy enough
I bought this mainly because I was tired of knocking my portafilter into the trash can and making a mess everywhere. It actually works better than I expected. The size is good for home use — I make 2–4 shots a day and I only have to empty it every few days. The bar feels solid and the rubber around it really softens the impact, so I don’t feel like I’m damaging my portafilter when I knock out the puck. The non-slip base is surprisingly helpful. It stays in place on my countertop and doesn’t slide around when I hit it. Cleaning is also easy since the bar comes out and I can just rinse the whole box. When I first unboxed it (see the photo below), it actually felt pretty sturdy and harder than I expected, which was a good sign. It’s not fancy or heavy-duty café equipment, but for a home espresso setup it does exactly what I need. Much cleaner than using the sink or a regular trash can.Would buy again.

Great value for a large knockbox.
It’s surprisingly hard to make a great knockbox. I’ve been using a Dreamfarm Grindenstein -- good, but not great -- for more than a decade, without finding a truly compelling replacement. This 1200 ml knockbox probably won’t be it either ... at least not for me. That said, it’s pretty dang good overall, and my reservations largely come down to personal preference and space limitations. There are several attributes I like. First, unlike the Grindenstein, the knock bar is easily removable for dumping grinds and cleaning, yet stays firmly in place during use. The bar itself appears to be a plastic core wrapped in a flexible rubberized sheath. It’s press-fit, so it’s possible it could loosen over time, but given the snug fit, that seems unlikely.Second, there’s ample space beyond the bar so one can strike near the bottom of the portafilter basket. I think this meaningfully reduces the chance of grinds breaking off and falling outside the knockbox. Smaller knockboxes like the Grindenstein tend to force you to strike closer to the middle of the basket, which can result in the puck coming out in chunks and making more of a mess. That said, this box also works reasonably well if you need to strike closer to mid-basket -- for example, if your portafilter has a loose basket clip that causes the basket to fall out unless it’s hit directly against the bar (as mine does).Third, this knockbox feels durable and has a number of thoughtful design features. The base includes a rubberized section -- similar to the knock bar’s sheath -- that helps keep it stable during use and offers a bit of protection for countertop surfaces. The box itself is plastic and is adequately ridgid but for countertop use it feels prudent to keep a hand on it to guard against tip-over. That said, to minimize cleanup, I generally use my knockbox over the sink, holding it in one hand as I clear the puck. Even though this knockbox is significantly larger, it was still easy to wield one-handed.The removable bar and spacious interior makes it easy to get a sponge inside for thorough cleaning. Despite the square design and multiple hard edges, I didn’t notice a particular problem with grounds getting trapped in corners. The vendor doesn't note if the box is dishwasher safe, but the plastic feels sturdy enough that it might be fine.Lastly, this knockbox holds a lot of grinds. It’s assuredly roomy enough for home use and might even work for a small office. Unfortunately, this is also the primary reason it doesn't work for me personally. I prefer to store my knockbox out of sight, and the drawer I use has limited vertical clearance. Unless you have a deep drawer or cabinet, this box will likely live on the counter.Whether that’s a drawback depends on how you feel about the design. The knockbox has a bold, modern look with pronounced right angles, which isn’t really to my taste -- I tend to prefer something more minimal with fewer hard edges. This is something I could easily overlook if I was able to stash it away, but I'm not a fan of how it looks on my counter. That said, for those who like this aesthetic and want a spacious, well-built knockbox, this is a great choice. Although I received this item at no cost via the Amazon Vine program, I think at the current price this knockbox offers significant value, and I'd definitely consider purchasing a smaller version (especially in the white/black colorway, which I think complements the bold design).

Perfect Espresso Knock Box – Durable and Practical
The substantial capacity ensures that there is an adequate supply of coffee grounds, which is advantageous for both domestic and professional applications.Disposing of used coffee pucks is uncomplicated due to the very sturdy removable knock bar. The shock-absorbent non-slip base is a feature that I cherish, as it ensures that the box remains stable while knocking out grounds, preventing any slippage or tipping. The material appears to be of high quality and durable, indicating that it is designed to withstand daily use.

Well‑designed concept, with one usability flaw
This knock box has a lot going for it. The square footprint sits neatly beside the machine, the step‑style design looks modern, and the large capacity is genuinely useful if you’re pulling several shots a day. It’s clear that real thought went into the layout and features.Unfortunately, it didn’t work for us. The back wall just isn’t tall enough to contain the puck when knocking it out. Instead of dropping cleanly into the box, grounds tend to hit the back edge and escape, which leaves a mess on the counter. For our workflow, that single design detail ended up being a dealbreaker.I appreciate the overall concept and hope the seller continues refining it, because there’s a lot of potential here. As it stands, though, the low back wall keeps it from functioning the way we need it to, so it’s a two‑star experience for us.

This Knock Box is the next best thing in Knock Box form for a LMLM.
This 1200 ml knock box integrates cleanly into my espresso workflow. Not only is it good looking since it looks like it’s inspired by the LM-LM or LM-lm (IYKYK!) it also handles standard sized portafilters easily, including deeper baskets, and releases dry, compact pucks without excessive force.Even wetter pucks from lighter roasts knock out cleanly without splashing. The knock bar absorbs impact well, which matters during repeated shots and back-to-back pulls. The non-slip base keeps the box stable during fast workflow movements and prevents counter creep.Capacity is sufficient for multiple shots before emptying, which reduces downtime during peak use.Cleanup is as easy as you would a normal dish thanks to the removable bar, and the interior doesn’t trap grounds or retain moisture. It is dishwasher safe which makes things so much easier in my experience and when it comes to espresso workflow, the tools make all the difference and this knock box is one of them tools. You will absolutely love the look, the heftiness and easy of handling/cleaning.TL;DR:Stable, high-capacity knock box that supports efficient espresso workflow, clean puck release, and repeated use.Disclosure:This review is part of Amazon’s Vine Program, which provides products at a reduced cost in exchange for honest reviews (taxed as income).
