This puck screen helped evenly distribute the water on my bambino it works incredibly well. It feels high quality and fits my portafilter. It’s thin, great value, easy to clean but id recommend a straw cleaner, has made my shots sweeter and less acidic

Finally got my order, and after using it, I can confirm it’s a practical tool. The best part is that it really cuts down on the time I spend cleaning my brew head. I don’t have to clean out coffee residue as often, which means less disassembly and a longer lifespan for my machine.As for reducing channeling and improving flavor, it might help a bit, but it doesn’t seem to affect the amount of coffee grounds I use. I previously used a 1.7mm screen, and this one feels a bit different—the coffee comes out more consistent, with less variation, and it doesn’t leave my portafilter too wet.Plus, it’s affordable and easy to clean. I highly recommend this puck screen.
I already own Gemini 1.0mm and 1.7mm screen pucks for my Brevill Barista Express machine and usually use the 1.0mm because the 1.7mm is too thick (I have to use less coffee to fit it. I noticed that even with the 1.0mm screen puck, it's a very tight fit. So I ordered this 0.65mm espresso puck screen and it worked beautifully. Please note I had ordered and returned a 0.2mm puck screen because it was too thin. This Bamynoir Espresso Puck screen that fits the 54mm stock Breville portafilter is now my favorite. I could fit a full amount of freshly ground coffee beans (about 20 grams) into the portafilter and the 0.65mm puck screen and tamp it down with no problems. Very smooth rotation into the machine and great pour.Unlike the Gemini puck screens, this is a dual layer puck screen, meaning one side is 0.3mm (you must face this down) and the other side is 0.something and that averages to 0.65mm. The idea is that the larger holes let more water in, then the smaller holes, create better water dispersion to prevent channeling.
Wanted a thin puck screen for my Breville 54mm portafilter. Tried another brand with a 53.5mm diameter, and it was getting jammed. This is 53.3 mm, and that 0.2mm makes all the difference. Really nice addition of my coffee-fu.
This is my first time using a puck screen and it does seem to make my shots taste better, possibly because of a more even extraction. When I run my Breville Barista Express without a portafilter, I noticed water comes out unevenly even after cleaning the filter head. This is the reason I decided to try a puck screen. I've only used it for about two weeks of daily use but so far so good. I rinse it off with water and use a microfiber cloth to keep it clean.I was hoping this would allow me to use a bottomless portafilter without making a mess, but it still happens every so often. I don't believe this is a reflection on the puck screen. I've gone back to using spouted portafilter but still use this puck screen.
These filter screens do a great job of keeping the head of my Bambino Plus clean, eliminating wet pucks (if any) and delivering a good shot. They are a bit thicker than advertised. I measure them at 0.080 thick but still thinner than most screens leaving more coffee capacity.
