Works perfectly to keep powdered grounds from flowing back up into my machine.I’d even say it does help regulate the water to more evenly spread across the grounds in the portafilter.It’s affordable!Highly recommended.
These work perfect with Breville portafilter and non-pressurized basket. I've got another more expensive one - one at the same price as these and they are almost identical. Cleaning is super easy - just rinsing under the tap. Definitely recommend these.

This 54mm espresso puck screen fits perfectly in my Breville portafilter and really improves shot consistency. It helps distribute water evenly and keeps the puck intact, making cleanup easier. The laser-cut design feels sturdy and professional. A small but noticeable upgrade for any home barista!
This is much more preferable than the mesh screen ones. It definitely keeps the brew head clean and is easy to clean and most importantly KNOW that it's clean. You can see it unlike the mesh.
For $10, this pick beats the other ones that I've tried. The solid, smooth construction is a big plus, and the design is really nice. The fit is pretty close to the portafilter I have for my Breville, and it's easy to use. Cleaning is also easy, but I'm not 100% sure about this puck. I haven't noticed a difference in taste, so I can't say for sure if it's worth it.
This is by far the best puck screen I have used. What sets it apart from the rest?1. It is stainless steel! Many of the screens I have used in the past do not disclose the material used. I am glad to know what it is and that it will last.2. It has smooth edges and is perfectly round. No more jagged edges that catch on the portafilter and are impossible to lay flat.3. The design allows confidence that it is thoroughly clean. Most other screens I have used are sort of woven, and it is hard to know whether there is any crud inside the layers of metal wire.4. Look super classy.I highly recommend this puck screen! It keeps the group head clean and fits very well in all of my 54mm portafilters.
