Got the 49mm for my 58-49 step-down basket. This is a solid, single-piece, heavy, perfectly engineered for the palm, beautifully semi-polished, stainless-steel lathed from round bar stock tamper. Honestly, people should learn how to calibrate their fingertips and arm force first before getting into expensive gimmicky tampers.Nearly everything else available are two-pieces that screw together and are chrome plated, high ferrous cheap steel that just look pretty in the beginning. Why is it so hard to find this basic, no springs, no calibrated gimmicks, no clicking, no-frills, well made tamper?Now that I have, I’m going to get the 54mm (Breville/Sage) and 58mm for my other baskets. Heck, I might get one more to make a shift knob for my car.

Fits the DeLonghi Dedica 685 perfectly.Surface finish isn’t mirror smooth. Its shiny enough to keep clean, it has a good grip to it & has a good weight to it as well. To me, it seems to be the best bargain. My tamper came in right the first time. This is also one of the only ones that says its food grade 304 Stainless. That was most important to me.

Poor tolerance - not 51mm
I measure this at 50.6mm with calipers, and it doesn't perfectly fit in the basket for a De'Longhi ECP3420, leaving a ring of untamped espresso. Great if you like channelling on your counter. Replaced it with a Normcore 51mm.
