Well-Built Tamping Station with Adjustable Support and Solid Wood Feel

I wanted a compact and nice looking station for my filter and other accessories and this one works for me. It supports different size filters if I want to switch up a bit, plus a brush and other gear. The wood feels nice and to me it seems like a substantial item. All holes are drilled well. The three large storage wells, each has an anti-skid disk in them. The disks can easily be removed for cleaning. The one in my filter hole must have been cut oddly, since it does not sit flush. However it’s not noticeable when a filter is stored there. It fits filters from 54 mm to 58 mm. Some of the 58 mm filters were a bit snug, but still fit. My unit measured about 24 cm long, 9.5 cm deep and 7 cm tall. The tamping station also has an adjustable bumper that I like. You can dial in the height support you need by adjusting the screw and locking it in place. It is held into the unit by a brass bushing and has survived some heavy handed tamping. It has a rubber dot on the top which I think is a nice touch. Once locked in place it did not loosen over many tamping sessionsI like it on the counter and it does not slide because of the rubber feet. It looks good, has some heft and spots for my gear. Overall it is a nice and presentable tamping station.

    Great Acacia Tamper station......mostly!

This Tamper Organizing Station is made out of Acacia wood. It is listed as being able to fit 54-58 mm portafilters. I am using this with a Breville Bambino. The fit and finish is very nice and all the corners are rounded. There are 3 silicone pads/coasters to fit into all the large “holes”. The largest hole is generic to fit a portafilter sized from 54-58 mm. There is a slot where the handle would go and an adjustable screw with rubber that you would use to support the handle when tamping. The other two holes are the same size and will fit 58mm accessories. I use them for my tamper and distributor, and they fit nicely. There are three smaller holes that are roughly the size of a quarter apportionment 1.5 inches deep. There are also two slots sized to fit puck screens. On the bottom there are four feet to help keep it from sliding around. My portafilter has three tangs. I have three portafilters, the original and two bottomless. I am only able to put the forward tang onto the station, but the other two will not. But, I am not able to have the other two touch at all. The adjustment screw is barely able to be adjusted enough to lift the handle to keep the portafilter level. It would be nicer if portafilter hole was sized closer to fit a 54mm size along with the handle slot being higher or the adjustment screw being able to go higher.

    Solid, well made tamping station

I have a countertop that doubles as a coffee station (expresso, pour over, vacuum) and needed a station to organize my expresso accessories that where laying on the countertop. This little Acacia wood station caught my eye so I pulled the trigger. This is one solid, well made, good looking tamping station. The finish was perfect, all sides and cutouts are smooth, there is an adjustable pin in the portafilter cutout so you can set for your portafilter and there are removable silicon pads in the portafilter and the two large accessory holes which is a nice touch to protect the tamping station.Overall it fits my needs but for convenience sake, I should have looked at a tamping station that has a cutout for storing my single and double dosing filters but that would be an added bonus as I use a 4 dose bottomless portafilter 95% of the time and only use the single and double dose when my daughter visits me.

Gorgeous espresso tamping station eliminates clutter and serves to upgrade espresso quality.

As I get more into making espresso, I find more needs for the tools to improve it. This station seems like an excellent solution to having my implements all nicely arranged in one place, and to hold it level while I use the implements. It is really a lovely acacia wood item, and the craftmanship seems excellent. All edges are smooth, the holder is finished, and also the holes have little mats.Sadly, neither my portafilter nor WDT whisk tool fit into the wells. So be sure to check your measurements before ordering. But since this really is very beautiful and well-made, for me it could really enhance the pleasure of making the espresso, the quality of the taste because it will enable preparing the grinds in a manner to improve the flavor, and the nice feeling of being organized and enjoying the lovely acacia wood station on my counter. I am planning to replace my espresso machine eventually. I am hopeful the next portafilter will fit this because it would be lovely to put this gorgeous item to use.

    Quality acacia tamping station

Very attractive acacia wood. You can actually see the little blocks that were glued together to make the larger carved block that is this tamping station. Very well put together. The only thing that’s wrong with this piece is there were a lot of little splinters/wisps of wood left in the narrow puck screen slots. Other than that it’s perfect. This is listed as being for 54mm portafilters at the minimum, but I’m actually able to make it work with a 51mm portafilter by having the adjustable handle rest screwed all the way down. This part is very easy to adjust and makes this station very versatile. It takes up quite a bit of counter real estate, but it keeps everything you’ll need back to back right next to each other so pulling shots isn’t a game of where’s Waldo. The organization is great.Acacia itself doesn’t tend to be as cheap as bamboo, for a quality piece as well made as this one, it’s definitely worth the money.
