This is a unique drawer organizer. I'm still on the fence on how much I like it compared to a typical drawer organizer. This one has actual pockets that your silverware goes into.Visually, it is very appealing. Functionality is where I'm on the fence because you don't just toss the silverware in or grab them out. They really have to be slid in and out of the pockets. This makes your drawers look much nicer because theres not a whole lump of tangled silverware, but it does take getting used to.The material is good, sturdy plastic and it can expand to be wider so you have a slot for larger utensils or kitchen tools. This is a really nice feature as it gives you more space to stash things and will accommodate your drawer size. The two pieces slide apart and not too easily, so I don't think theres any worry about it shimmy-ing in with use.Time will tell if I can get used to the pocket-style but overall I think it will be good. Also, at the price of $22, I think it is a decent value. Certainly doesn't feel like a cheaply made item.
I really wanted to love this cutlery organizer. My silverware drawer really needed an upgrade in organizing so things didn't slide around everywhere. Unfortunately this just didn't do what I needed it to. There aren't any stoppers in the tray so each divider is open to the next (for example, the knives slide into the spoons, and the spoons into the forks). There is nothing but the next set of cutlery to stop them from sliding all the way into the tray. The angle the silverware goes in also creates an issue as they are hard to slide in and out without getting stuck or tangling. Even when they aren't completely full it's hard to get things in and out. My son usually empties the dishwasher and after a couple of times putting away the silverware he asked me to go back to the old drawer organizer.I also found that the cutlery stuck up at an angle and would catch on the lip of the drawer and make it impossible to open. The organizer itself fit our drawer perfectly, but once you added the silverware it would get stuck. Perhaps our silverware drawer was just a tad too shallow for this style of organizer?My favorite aspect was the expandable side organizer that was great for corralling serving-ware or kitchen sheers or all the little bits and bobs that end up in the cutlery drawer.Overall this was a miss for me. I suggest measuring the height of your drawer and adding a bit for forks and spoons to make sure this will fit your drawer.
This silverware organizer tray is exactly what I needed! It expands to fit my kitchen drawer perfectly, and the adjustable compartments keep utensils neatly separated. BPA-free plastic is sturdy and easy to clean. Great for flatware storage!
I've been looking at these angled drawer organizers for sometime now, I like how they allow for utensils to lay at angle and reduce the amount of space each item takes because one row is tucked under the previous row. There's a nice expandable side drawer which can be adjusted to fit what space you have to fill, or closed completely if there is no space.A few drawbacks, because the tops of the utensils are hidden you have to have some organization with what goes where. There are little icons printed on the rows to show knife, spoon, fork you just have to have discipline to look for them. There are nice little slots at the top for shorter spoons and forks that would fall through in the bigger slots.In general, this is a good organizer. One draw back is if you ahve longer utensils like an ice tea spoon, the angle is a little too high to prevent the utensil from catching when you open the drawer. We only have one spoon that's long like this, so now it lives in a different spot in the drawer.
First, the positives:It's expandable. You can use it either as just the utensil organizer, or expand it also use the open tray on the side. Made with a decent material - BPA free. Easy to wash.What I didn't like:It feels cheap. The sections for the utensils are small and awkward. I think this type of organizer just isn't for me - I like to be able to see which utensil I am grabbing. The cubbies make it impossible to do so, since you're supposed to put the utensils in with only the handles sticking out.There aren't enough sections to accommodate a full set of utensils that includes anything but one size fork, one size spoon, one size knife. I guess if you don't have a full set, it would be fine.For the price, I find the overall functionality/practicality to be lacking.
