Never thought I needed ...

This is a baking item I never thought I needed but so glad I picked this one up at a great price.I was baking ciabatta bread and my wife gave me a "side eye" look and asked, "you're putting it directly on the <granite> counter?" I had never thought much about it before. I mean we wipe the counter down frequently, but she was right. The counter sees a lot of traffic, and it did seem best to have a dedicated work surface.This mat is big, and that makes me happy. It gives plenty of working real estate. It was hard to gauge the actual size without busting out the tape measure. I attached a photo with typical baking items for size reference. (looks like photo may be distorted because it's a lot wider in real life)It's got heft despite it being a thin material. Non-slip? You betcha! Once you put it on your counter, it's not sliding around. You have to lift it up to reposition it. It's not meant to be cut on, so I expect the durability to be good although having used it only twice, it's too early to tellThe bonus dough scraper / cutter is a no frills, but nice extra.

Sourdough must have!

I bought this to help with my sourdough baking! My dough was constantly sticking to the counter no matter how much flour I used. This may makes it soo easy to roll out the dough and it does not stick. Helps to make baking go more smoothly. It’s lightweight thin and easy to clean! The size is perfect and the quality. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I used a sharp knife to cut the dough in half and it did slice through the mat a little bit. Definitely a great quality for the price.
