Great Pot

Was looking for a plain stainless-steel pot for soups and tomato sauces. This fits the bill perfectly. Bought the 4 quart for one person. Made spaghetti sauce and it was great. No discoloration, no scratches, low heat simmered no surprises, seems to be sturdy, handles affixed well and kept cool. Easy to clean.

Not high grade stainless steel.

I'm very pleased with the two pans, but as I figured by the price it wasn't going to be high quality stainless steel and I was right. Didn't even come close to the magnet test. High grade stainless steel a magnet will not stick to it. Mid grade stainless steel a magnet will hold so so. Low grade it holds on well. the lower the grade of stainlesssteel. The better a magnet will hold. The magnet I used was a low grade magnet that holds a photo on my refrigerator. Not a strong magnet at all. It stuck nicely onto both pans. I have to say. I do love Farberware products. I grew up using them. My mom and dad received a complete set of Farberware as a wedding gift. That was in 1956. My mom still has that complete set and she still uses them everyday. A life time of use and they still look great. One cam ask for more than that. A magnet will not stick them either. I bought a complaint set of Farberware when I moved out on my own back in 1979. I still have my set. Some thing, amagnet will not stick to them. The reason I bought these 2 pans. I bought them because my original set didn't include these size pans. I have been using non stick pans for decades. I'm tried of them only lasting a short time and wanted to go back to using stainless steel pans. So I bought this set. Being low stainless steel, they still clean up easily and cook evenly. In my opinion they're very nice pans at a great price. I hope this helps. A good quality stainless steel pan is going to cost a lot more.

Solid Performance, Though Packaging was Unexpected

I purchased the Farberware Classic Stainless Series 2-Quart Covered Double Boiler and, functionally, it is exactly what I was looking for.Performance & QualityThe pot itself is very nice. It feels sturdy, looks classic, and works exactly as it should. The stainless steel heats evenly, and the 2-quart size is perfect for melting chocolate, making custards, or preparing delicate sauces without scorching them. It’s a reliable addition to the kitchen that feels like it will last a long time.Packaging ObservationsThe only downside was the way it arrived. Instead of the standard Farberware retail box, the double boiler was simply placed in a plastic bag and then inside a standard Amazon shipping box. It felt a bit "weird" and led me to suspect it might have been a previous return rather than a brand-new retail unit.Pros:High-quality stainless steel construction.Works perfectly for delicate cooking tasks.Classic design that matches other Farberware pieces.Cons:Disappointing packaging (arrived in a plastic bag rather than a box).Bottom Line: If you can get past the odd packaging, the product itself is excellent and does its job perfectly.

Long lasting

Faberware still makes a great product. Replaced one that I couldn’t fix the handle on. Lasted about 50 years of daily use. No reason to believe that the new one won’t last as long
