We bought these placemats for a new kitchen table. I've never been a fan of placemats, but our new table is wood. These compliment it so well! They are functional and stylish. Very happy with my purchase.Why did you pick this product vs others?:I chose these placemats due to the color, design, and ease of cleaning. I couldn't be happier!

When I first saw the advertisement for these placemats, it said that they were leather. There was a PU leather at the end of the description of the object. I was very interested in them, especially because the price was so reasonable for everyone. I didn’t really notice that they weren’t 100% leather until I began to write this review, and it stated that they were synthetic leather. And at the very end of the “descriptions”, down at the end of their article, it stated that they were faux leather. I made the mistake of not watching every single word that was written about the item for order. I saw the word leather, and I was hooked.To be honest, I probably would have ordered the placemats anyways, had I known that they were not leather. At least by the definition of the word leather, and what leather is. The leather word was used, but then they added a PU leather at the very end of the description.I had ordered the large size, and the light gray color because they were very attractive looking. The size of each placement is, 17.3” X 11.8”, which happens to be a great size for my dining room table, also perfect for our breakfast area on our island. They really are nice.There are so many reasons why these particular placemats are wonderful. They are going to be used as a great addition for our kitchen, and dining room areas. Plus, there were 6 synthetic leather placemats. I don’t have to worry about the placemats in several areas to include:*they are waterproof,*they are stain resistant,*they are heat resistant up to 212 degrees Fahrenheit. Even though I wouldn’t recommend that they are used as hot pad,*they are easy to clean. I’m going to take a washcloth and wipe down both sides of the placemats to clean them,*they go well with most of the colors, and finishes, that we have in our home,*they also fit in with most every decor,*they are going to be great for protecting our table from scratches, burns, slipping off the table, and regular messes that often occur during mealtime,*pricing is very fair at less than $24 for all 6 synthetic leather, double sided, placemats.Overall, these are great placemats. I’m just not thrilled about how the description was written. I don’t believe that they should have used the word leather at all. There is zero real leather in these placemats. I am going to use these placemats everyday. I do have them set up in our kitchen as we speak.
These were not as thin as other reviews have mentioned. They are not that thick but not thin either. They do have an odor when you first open up the package but it goes away in a few hours. The one thing that does bother me is the coasters are imprinted in all six of the place mats. Eventually they do go away but is that something that will happen to them as you place things on them for a period of time?
