Definitely recommend!

I absolutely love this skillet!First, the weight is great for someone who doesn’t have a lot of arm strength but still wants to use cast iron.The surface is smooth enough that I can use wood spatulas and utensils and it doesn’t harm them or metal and it doesn’t harm the pan.I have used it to fry eggs, bacon, chicken, veggies and even used it as a Dutch oven to make roasted broccoli!It’s has not done any damage to my glass top stove.My only complaint is that the seasoning oil is seed (grapeseed and Sunflower) oils. I threw it away and I’m using organic coconut oil instead.Cleaning is super easy! The brush works well and if things get stuck or dried on, the chain mail scrubber is perfect!

Pricey but a great cast iron!

I absolutely love this pan! With a smoother cooking finish I was frying eggs beautifully the first week with no stick. It arrives pre/seasoned with clear care instructions on maintaining.I have a glass top stove and it cooks fine upon it.It is pricey. While it claims to be lighter than similar cast iron pans its size, I couldn’t tell much of a difference. Cast iron pans are just heavy.

Not just Taco Tuesday, but everyday just got a whole lot better thanks to the Field Company Starter Set: No.8 Cast Iron Skillet! Lol. Delicious food and easy cleanup. I absolutely love this pan set. It's a total game-changer.From the moment I unboxed it, I could tell it was worth every penny. The vintage design reminds me of the cast-iron skillet my grandma used to prepare our family's favorite meals, bringing back waves of nostalgia. Yet its weight surprised me at just over 4 lbs! I was able to toss veggies with minimal effort. I also recently had spinal neck surgery so I have a lot of hand weakness, so something light is critical for me to cook with.The 10.25-inch diameter is perfect for all my cooking needs.I also liked that it comes pre-seasoned. Having it ready for me to fire up the stove and get cooking right away was awesome. Every piece of meat I’ve fried, every vegetable I’ve sautéed, and every pancake I’ve flipped turned out wonderfully so far. The evenly distributed heat only a high-quality cast iron skillet can provide is worth investing in quality.Cleaning was a breeze. The set comes with a cast iron cleaning kit, (brush, chain, oil) so maintenance is a no brainer. It's definitely helpful to have to keep your skillet in tip-top shape for years to come.I also like the fact that it’s made in the USA. I'm a firm believer in supporting local businesses, and Field Company has certainly earned my allegiance with this top-notch skillet set. Their customer service is also terrific. Amazing upgrade to my cast iron skillet, lightweight yet sturdy

I just got my Field skillet and am obsessed. I bought one because I was looking to upgrade our cast-iron skillet and I had read that the Field ones are lighterweight (currently using Lodge).The fact that it is preseasoned out of the box is so convenient so I could basically start using it right away after a quick rinse. Made roasted chicken thighs in it, and I was super impressed with the even heating and natural nonstick surface. I started the chicken over medium high heat for a good crisp and then transferred to the oven. They were perfect. Definitely easier to transfer to the oven than my other skillet due to the longer handle and lighter weight. Cleanup afterwards was a breeze too! Have also sautéed onions and ground beef in the pan, and everything got some nice color and browning, adding to the dish’s depth of flavor.I love the cleaning accessories it came with and the packaging overall was beautiful. The more modern skillet shape is more in line with my kitchen’s aesthetic. Can’t wait to cook more in this and know it will become something I use daily. If you’re looking for an upgraded cast iron pan for your kitchen, would highly recommend this skillet.

Beautiful, lightweight, premium cast iron wins my heart!

This is the first Field skillet that we've purchased for ourselves, and we're so happy to add it to our other (larger No. 12) that was a gift for my birthday last year. After using the family-size No.12 and loving the smooth finish / easier non-stick cooking for almost 1.5 years, I finally decided to get a No.8 for daily use. It is SO graceful on my hands and the perfect size when cooking for 2 hungry (but tired!) parents.
