Ordered for our cooking classes as there are beginners learning to use knives correctly. This item is stainless steel, easy to clean and long lasting. It easily slips onto the middle finger and promotes "claw hands" when learning knife skills. This device acts as a safety shield for fingers and is useful for a knife guide.Very helpful for those that are just learning to use knives properly as well as those that need to be extra safe. We hand wash when finished, but I don't see any reason you couldn't use the dishwasher if you wanted, however, the guard is very small and just takes a second to properly clean for the next use.

They do take getting use to while cutting and sizing for your own finger but I plan to use them and prevent cutting my fingers like I do so often! Good product the only thing I would like even more is a larger one.
