This is the sharpest knife out-of-box I've ever owned.

Amateur chef would be generous when describing my kitchen skill-level. I've probably owned less than 2dozen kitchen knives of various price-point and quality my entire life. With all that said, this is the sharpest knife out-of-box I've ever owned. Like many people, I've been intoxicated by the viral videos of men cooking elaborate meals entirely outdoors; and they always seem to be using this style knife. So, I bought a cheap, dull one to see if I'd like it. Initially no, but then yes. I began to like it more than a traditional chef's knife. Having done my personal research I got back online to buy a higher quality one. I was prepared to pay $$$ for a really nice one, but this relatively inexpensive one had the exact shape and handle style I wanted so I took a chance. Love it. Lighter, and better balanced than the cheep one I had, and about a thousand times more sharp. As I type this, I looked down to notice the bald spot on my forearm from where I initially tested it and essentially dry-shaved my arm with. Yeah she's sharp alright. So take in to consideration my limited background, but that has been my experience.
