Best stove top pressure cooker for food on the market. Stainless steel version is the best.

The best pressure cooker for food cooking on the market. If you are just canning, then go with cheaper aluminum, and if you want to can a lot, go with the All-American line of canners. But for cooking food on the stovetop, you can't beat a Fissler stainless steel pressure pot. I don't use aluminum for cooking because the aluminum interacts with salts and wears easily. Ever cook a steak with salt, wrap it in aluminum foil and find small holes eaten through the foil in the morning? Or scrub out your aluminum pot and find all the dark stuff on your towel or sponge after wiping? Never saw aluminum being an essential element for health...so don't cook with it myself. Stainless steel doesn't react to much of anything, and iron is in my blood.

Great pressure cooker!

I loved this pressure cooker from the moment I unpacked it. This is what high quality looks and feels and performs like. My first meal in it was Hungarian Goulash, the next one Chicken Chili with beans. For those new to pressure cooking, every pressure cooker will at first release quite a bit of steam. This is necessary to allow for pressure buildup and displace unneeded air. Once that is accomplished the valves will close and the pressure will now rise.My cooker does not show green and red on the pressure valve, just white rings. I might ask the company about that unless they monitor ratings and contact me, but that is not a dealbreaker for me since I have used pressure cookers for many years.I have several sizes in electric pressure cookers, but with winter on the way I rather have one that will efficiently work on my gas stove when the power goes out. And I absolutely refuse to use aluminum for cooking. Only stainless steel and cast iron will do for me.

Perfect Results Every Time – Fast, Flavorful and Built to Last!

I bought the 8L Fissler Vitaquick and love it! The stainless steel is top quality and doesn’t alter food taste. Makes perfect creamy beans, fall-apart pork tacos, and BBQ chicken wings. It cooks super fast, so you may need to adjust your timing but the results are amazing. Worth every penny!

Expensive but worth it.

When our Fagor cooker wore out, we bought this. I wasn't sure it was worth the money, but side-by-side it's a MUCH better product.Read the instructions and watch the video, it's a little dfferent from Fagor, Imusa or Universal.

Arrived defective

This arrived defective, and when I called Amazon regarding it, they told me that someone from he company would contact me within 48 hours. It's now been that, and I've not heard anything about getting my replacement, so I'm posting this review. All I wanted was to have the lid replaced. Until that's done and the item works as it should, I stand by my review.
