Liners are paper not silicone

Steamy and modified for greater room

Build quality is decent. Easy to modify (not responsible if you mess up, lol) Anyway, inner height has always been an issue with these. I took the slats out of one level and set aside for later use. There is an inner band/lip that is used to help seal the lid. Remove this only after finding the two, almost invisible, tiny tiny little dowels. You can push em out with a toothpick or something like that. Then the band lifts up. Clip the two twisty tie things on the outside and pull them out however you can. Then gently separate the bamboo and slide out the slats. then put back together. Re insert the band/lip thing and line up the holes and put those mini dowel things back in. The whole reason to do this is be able to set in a ceramic bowl or whatever for steaming. Works like a charm for my steamed pork belly with ginger and green onions and shoyu. No mess either. The extra liners are great for manapua or anything else you don't want sticking.

Worked excellent with my existing wok

I purchased this steamer to make hum bao which I had not made in years. The steamer worked perfect with my existing wok I just simmered water in the bottom of the wok then set the steamer on top. I am looking forward to using the steamer for pot stickers which is one of my favorite appetizers and prefer the chewiness you get from steaming vs frying.
