I've just used it twice, so far so good. The temperature control isn't exact but seems to stay within 2-3 degrees.

If you are into bread-making, yogurts, kombucha or other fermented foods, this is the ideal proofer.86 watt bread proofing box is only 15"D x 10"W x 11"H and its foldable for easy storage. The materials are wipe-clean inside and out. It's temperature controlled from 50 degrees to 113 degrees F and features a time that runs up to 48 hours.Comes with a foldable stainless steel rack that fits in the bottom of the box. Has 4 preset modes so you can activate your starter for sourdough, feeding the starter, rising the bread dough and even a yogurt setting. The top has a view window so you can check on the progress without opening the box, ensuring consistent temperatures. Timer has a bell. My house is always a bit cooler since it is brick. IDEAL for cold kitchens! Unless I warm up the oven, there is no "warm" place to rise dough.The ad also mentioned using it for starting seeds. I’ve been making sourdough in some fashion or another, off and on, for nearly 40 years. From the pre-internet 1980s recipe that had me building my first starter using natural yeast from the skins of table grapes, to the COVID craze and endless sourdough YouTube channels of today, I feel like I’ve seen it all.I have a very strong starter that’s been going for about 10 years, and I’ve more or less settled on a dough process that I know will work 95% of the time. (I use 40% whole wheat flour, which doesn’t always rise quite as well as 100% white flour). This involves a 2-minute warm up of the gas oven, then just the interior oven light to keep it around 80 degrees all day for proofing.Enter the proofing box! (Cue the angelic choir and god-light.)I’ve been coveting one of these magical boxes for years … ever since I saw the first one online about 5 years ago. One of the biggest factors in proofing bread … and LEARNING to proof bread … is controlling temperature. (I think this accounts for that 5% semi-failure rate in my system, when my bread just doesn’t rise the way it should.)Having a digital thermostat, even if it’s not accurate, now gives me a consistent baseline, and an environment I can tweak and reproduce. As they say, baking may feel like a dark art, but it’s actually chemistry. And there are rules for what works and what doesn’t.The review:I love that the box folds up flat, and it includes a wire rackThe control panel is simple and easy to use. You can read the short instruction sheet and then toss it in the recycling. You won’t need it again.Convenient magnetic snaps to seal the topThe weak link may be the zippers. They’re small and plastic, and they don’t travel around the corners very smoothly. I’m concerned they may eventually get snagged or fail. But I live in Southern California where it seldom gets cold, so I could probably get by with one or two air leaks in the box if the zippers do give out.Overall, I’m so happy to finally own one of these things for my bread making. It may even inspire me to make yogurt! The price seems fair, and the rest of the build quality feels solid (the jury is still out on the zippers).
BUYERS BE AWARE!! this has a foreign plug it does not work in the US!! Had a big day of bread making planned just to be ruined by the fact I CANNOT plug this in to use it!
