Great steel razor slicer, little loose handle/slide, be careful

Works great. The slide frame does allow a bit too much movement on the black plastic push through, so I can see how people that are not careful about keeping the potato straight could catch the plastic on the steel blades and shred it. I have not had that problem, most likely because I trim the ends of my tatoes which makes the flat on both sides. This keeps everything in really good alignment and I have had zero issues after using it three times now. Hope this helps,

Good purchase

I've only used it once so I can't say much for durability, but the suction power is amazing. I bought it to cut sweet potatoes but because the are harder, they had to be microwaved before this would cut through. But it cut through nice and uniformly after doing so. Because sweet potatoes are also narrow at the ends, the ends were smashed a bit. But it didn't affect the taste or cooking. This was super easy to clean and operate. It was also quick to assemble.

Cleaning and installing the blades

You must understand that you stand the device on the back to remove and install the side and bottom plates. If not, trying to get the three plates to go in the proper spot is difficult. After understanding this it is extremely easy to clean the unit. Another note the 4 wingnuts that hold the cutting blade to the device includes 4 tiny...very tiny lock washers that serve no purpose. Throw them away you don't need them. A lock washer is to prevent a nut from loosening or backing out. That's will not serve any purpose in this unit and takes time to put them on when installing the wing nuts. The device works very well and I'm very satisfied with it.

I love this thing. I was a little hesitant because of one or two of the other reviews. I'm so glad I got this one. It holds up well to rigorous use.It glides easy on the rails. Very easy to push potatos through both the 3/8" and 1/2" cutters. Every once in a while you get a stubborn potato that is harder to get through, but in my option they still go through pretty easy, just back it up a little and push.The blades are nice and sharp. It's a quick clean up and easy storage. Changing the blade is pretty quick, I have changed mine several times so far.The handle lever where the handle screws to the machine likes to come un-screwed a little. I just put a drop fo purple threadlocker on it.This was a great addition to my kitchen at good price for what I needed.

Suction cup doesn't suction.

Other than the suction cup not working, it works great. But the faulty suction cup makes using it difficult as I have to hold the frame in place, push the handle down to cut the potato, and a bowl to catch the fries. It's really awkward because I don't have three hands.

Excellent unit for those who take the time to learn how to use it.

I got this after discovering my new air fryer made excellent french fries. I almost never buy frozen now.Industrial all-metal quality. You need to have good leverage; I found pulling the handle towards me works best. Larger potatoes can be harder to cut, so I cut those in half first. Sweet potatoes will need a minute in the microwave to soften as they are more dense.After much research, this seemed to be the most robust, and I was right. Lesser units abound, even at similar prices, but this turned out to be an excellent choice.One drawback is that you need to take it apart to clean the cutter, but rinsing it off regularly is just as good. There is a narrower cutter available, but I surmise that will somewhat increase the cutting force needed.
