5 Sta4 French Onion Soup Cup
This is definitely a 5 Star product. Soup cups are hefty but not bulky. Excellent quality of both cup and handle. The later is easy to grasp even with an oven mitt.Soup cooks well inside as the soup cups have excellent heat retention. Cups are very easy to clean - just soap and hot water.I had wanted to prepare traditional French Onion soup, but was missing some key ingredients, and it was very late into the night so no supermarkets were open. So I opted for a "cheat" with a can of Campbell's Condensed French Onion soup that I had on hand. I added a decent amount croutons to the bottom, added soup, and since I didn't have any Grueyere cheese on hand either, I opted for freshly shaved Pecorino-Romano cheese. While not traditional, it still turned out rather well. What matters most is the performance of the soup cups, not my low-quality fake French Onion soup on the fly.5 stars all the way and I would definitely recommend this product as it's an excellent value for the cost.

Great, sturdy, large capacity bowls... so pretty!!!
I absolutely love these soup bowls! The 16-ounce size is perfect for a single serving of French onion soup, but I also use them for stews, chili, pot pies, salads, cereal, and snacks. Decent French Onion Soup Bowls. Almost seem “handmade.” Unsure about safety standards met.
These are decent French onion soup bowls. They were packaged carefully with a lot of styrofoam to ensure safe shipping. They have a smooth white finish which is pretty and goes with anything. The listing states that they’re oven, microwave and dishwasher safe. It is unusual to purchase dishes (at least in my experience) that have no information on the dish itself, as far as where they’re safe to use, etc. But these say nothing. So hopefully the listing is correct? They’re very sturdy and the foods I’ve eaten out of them taste as they always do. They are easy to hand wash. I haven’t put in the dishwasher. I’m not sure about the little holes on the underneath of the handles. The listing said they were to prevent cracking from thermal heating. And so far, they must be working because I’ve not had any cracking when heating up foods in the microwave. But I am concerned about water maybe staying inside if placed in the dishwasher? I mean, the listing says it is also for water drainage, but I wouldn’t think water would get inside if the holes weren’t there? Just hopefully they don’t get mold inside? One of the bowls did arrive with a slight imperfection around the rim. Not so much a knick or chip from shipping, it looks like it’s a spot that maybe was missed in the glazing process? Either way, it doesn’t bother me as I’m just using them for casual meals and since no one will probably be drinking out of the bowls, it shouldn’t affect anything. I love the size and how easy they are to carry. If someone is a big soup lover, these might be very handy. Again, assuming they’re as safe to eat out of as the listing claims. But still skeptical since there’s no info listed on the bowls themselves.

French Onion Soup Bowls with Solid Build Quality and Super Easy to Clean
I’m pleased with these French Onion Soup Bowls! The 16 oz size is good for a big serving of soup, chili, party dips or even a Mini casserole. I may try and use them for cereal when I'm on the run and standing while eating. You could try using for soufflé or mini pot pie. They are slightly larger than the largest 14 oz ramekin, so don't use those measurements for your recipes—unless you want to share your crème brûlée with a friend!I’ve used them in the oven for French onion soup to test them out; they heat evenly and handle the temperature really well. The soup came out HOT! No cracking, just solid performance. Note that they are huge, the extra two ounces meant I could only make one large bowl of soup as opposed to two gratinées.The handles make them easy to move around with a heat resistant hand towel, even when they’re hot vs the old school brown stoneware crocks which you have to handle delicately. There are two little holes on them so be careful because water might get trapped after pulling from a dishwasher (which one of the other reviewers mentioned). Cleaning is easy, nothing sticks, and the smooth glaze wipes helps clean them right away. The base does show a little dust from being in the cabinet, and I do love how these stack in storage.They also look great on the table: simple, white, and classy. I wasn't expecting them to feel this sturdy and high-quality. Definitely worth it if you like making soups or oven-baked dishes at home!
