It's a behemoth but works perfectly
We bought this as a Sabbath hot water urn - but it's so big that we can use it for hot water all week with just a topoff. All the cheaper ones we purchased failed in some way during the return period or shortly thereafter. With pump pots, the air pump typically fails within the first year and none of the vendors provide replacement parts. We're not permitted by our religious laws to use the electric pumps on Sabbath, so the urn is then useless, which is why we opted for the spigot design. The Garvee will boil a full pot of water in about 5 minutes. It keeps water at about 185 and starts reheating instantly after topping off. A few notes: 1. The sides are not as cool as with some other double-walled urns, but not too hot to touch. The top, as usual with these, is not insulated at all so we keep a folded towel on top to retain heat. 2. We do not use this for coffee, so we cannot comment on the percolator function. 3. The sight glass is graduated for the percolator function so some interpolation is required for hot water use. So far so good - the best urn we've had in 20 years.

The quality of the product
This coffee urn is easy to use not complicated at all. It was worth the money I spent on it. It keeps the coffee really hot I love it. This urn is really good when you have family over I mostly use it when I have family and friends over.

No markings for number of cups
I bought this coffee maker, but never used it - that's why I am giving it a 4 star assuming it works well. However, I am returning this coffee maker because it does not have any indicator marks as to show how much water you are adding and hence no way to know how many cups of coffee you are making. This pot was purchased for our church where we would be making anywhere from 25 to 80 cups - we need to know easily how many cups we are preparing. Great for heating water, but not for making coffee.

This thing makes disgusting tasting coffee
I don't know what is wrong. But this urn makes coffee taste HORRID. It comes out tasting sour and metallic, like it's spoiled. Do NOT get this, just stick with the coffee pot.

Bought for a wedding
We tried this out today. Coffee is very hot when first brewed. After an hour I checked the temp and it was still 175. Still plenty hot. So I waited another hour and it was still hot. This was after it was turned off after it brewed. It seems like it will be a great way to serve coffee for the wedding. I would buy again.
