I thought it would be cheaply made because the price was so low but I was pleasantly surprised its great quality
First impression: beautiful, large silverware chest. Provides ample space for the eating utensils. The extra drawer serves great to store the serving utensils. May consider purchasing a separator also adorned in deep red velvet to help organize the drawer for my serving utensils since it’s just a general drawer.Slight disappointment: picture shows the main section also have a knife holder against the top lid. Mine did not come with it, so now I need to figure out the best way to store my knives… unless it takes the place of the drawer and I store my serving utensils elsewhere. But it will defeat the purpose of organizing my fine silverware within one chest…
I was looking for a silverware cabinet to store a vintage set of flatware I received that once belonged to my grandmother. This flatware cabinet was the trick, and it is very well made. This cabinet was able to store all of the pieces 50+ pieces of flatware and serving utensils. I'm very happy with this product especially considering the price I paid for it. The item was received as described. I highly recommend this product.
I didn’t expect a miracle because this was less expensive than some of the others, but this is ridiculously shoddy workmanship - scratches, dents & dings. Inside the velvet is pulling back from the edges - just a mess. I bought this box to use to give my antique silver to my son & new Daughter-in-law. The original box was damaged in our last move. I’m disappointed to say the least.
This was perfect for my needs. Very well prices for a fancy looking, well made holder. I am very picky as this is my grandmother’s silver. VERY please with my purchase!
A decent box but not excellent. The exterior color is pretty, and I like the red interior very much. The box will fit up to 12 place settings of silverware inside; however, the seams on the dividers are visible—looks like thin strips of fabric are glued there—a little cheap looking. The handles on the box are sturdy enough to carry the box when it’s full of silverware. I kept my sterling in it for six months with no sign of any tarnishing. Like others have mentioned, there is an unpleasant odor inside the box (the anti-tarnish chemical?) that does not go away. I ended up buying a new Reed & Barton box to replace it. For the price, the Genrice box is OK, but I would not buy it again.
