Work well
I approached these knives with a bit of skepticism. I hadn't heard of the brand. That's not a bad thing. It actually let me be a bit more objective. Overall, this is a great set that I'm happy I picked up. I wished I'd gotten a darker color. That's just a preference. It doesn't matter as they have a great color to them that hasn't come off at all. They've been handwashed and put in a dishwasher over a dozen times. There's no fading or rust seen at all. Cleaning them isn't difficult. I expected different because of the handle and how it connects to the blade. The blade itself is sharp, very sharp. It's actually even quite stiff. That's a compliment to its functionality in the kitchen. Most things dealt with in a home make a flexible blade unnecessary and is actually a hinderance. My only gripe is the handle on the knife itself. It's not bad. With it being textured it's excellent. I just don't find it comfortable to use for long periods. That's not an easy thing to win. I would happily give these as a gift to anyone and recommend anyone pick them up.
I purchased this 12-Piece Kitchen Knives Set after my old knives had become dull and worn out, and I have to say this set has been a fantastic addition to my kitchen. The first thing that impressed me was the thoughtful inclusion of blade guards for each knife. As someone who lives in a smaller space with limited drawer room, these protective sheaths have been incredibly useful for keeping the knives safe and organized without needing a bulky knife block taking up counter space. The set includes all the essential knives you need for everyday cooking tasks. The chef knife handles chopping vegetables and meat with ease, while the serrated bread knife glides through crusty loaves without crushing them. I particularly appreciate having the smaller paring knife for detail work like peeling and trimming. The variety in this 12-piece set means I always have the right tool for whatever I am preparing. In terms of sharpness, these knives came ready to use right out of the box. They cut cleanly through tomatoes, onions, and even tougher items like butternut squash without requiring excessive pressure. The stainless steel blades have maintained their edge well with regular use.The handles are comfortable to grip and feel balanced in my hand, which makes extended prep work much less tiring. I have used them for everything from simple weeknight dinners to more elaborate holiday meals, and they have handled every task without issue. The ergonomic design really does make a difference when you are spending time in the kitchen. One thing worth noting is that while these knives are dishwasher safe according to the description, I have been hand washing them to preserve the blade edges and keep them in optimal condition. It only takes a minute and gives me peace of mind that they will last longer. For the price point, this set offers exceptional value. You get a complete collection of quality knives with protective storage solutions, which is exactly what I needed without breaking the bank. Whether you are setting up your first kitchen or looking to replace an aging knife set, the Gibson Home Bostonville collection delivers reliable performance and practical features that make daily cooking more enjoyable.
The Gibson Home Bostonville 12 Piece Kitchen Knives Set W/Blade Guards/Sheaths is very nice in my opinion. At the quite reasonable price of about 20 bucks currently I have nothing but good things to say about this set. I order and received the white version and it is quite tasteful and light looking and should not compete with any color of decor. The stainless steel blades appear to be good quality and the superior sharpness they possess should last with proper care. The knives cut chop slice and dice efficiently and smoothly. There is a knife here for every need - One 8 inch chef knife, one 8 inch bread knife, an 8 inch carving knife and a santoku knife (which I very much appreciate as they are not present in many sets and oh so handy), a utility and paring knife, all with heavier and convenient form-fitting sheaths. The sheaths are a must in our household now; for safety, for protection, for storing, for travelling, they are a game changer when it comes to knife sets.If you are in the market for a very nice starter, travel, or extra knife set, at a price which I consider to be very reasonable, this nice set may very well be worth a second look in my opinion. Thank you.
I really like this Gibson Home knife set—first, the color is beautiful in person, a soft mint that instantly made my kitchen feel brighter. The knives feel comfortable in my hand, not too heavy but still sturdy, and they came sharp right out of the package. I’ve used them for chopping veggies, slicing fruit, and prepping meals, and they glide smoothly without sticking, which makes prep easier and faster. I also appreciate that the nonstick coating helps with quick cleanup, and the variety of knife sizes covers pretty much everything I need day to day. Overall, it’s a stylish, functional set that performs well for everyday cooking and looks great sitting out on the counter.
