I got this colander to replace my old one that I had for over 20 years. Yes I know I should have replaced it years ago but it was still in good shape. Anyways I wanted to find a new one and this one fit the bill perfectly. I like how I can collapse it for easy storage. It cleans well and I like how I can put this in the dishwasher to make sure it's completely cleaned. I just wish it was a little bit larger to fit more stuff in it. All in all I'm completely happy with this and I will be buying another one of these soon.

I just received the GIR Collapsible Colander and look forward to using it. I choose it because my kitchen is rather small and my current stainless-steel colander takes up too much room. I felt the collapsible type would be a good upgrade.The material is a fairly heavy silicone, which is flexible and dishwasher safe (top rack only). However, it is NOT to be use in the microwave (honestly, not sure why you would ever nuke a colander, but I'm guessing someone has). The colander is functional and does save space. It is all I asked for.Overall, it is what it claims. Nothing more, nothing less.

Great buy! A need for any kitchen!
I was SO skeptical regarding using this. I've bought another set (cheap, I admit) from somewhere else, but expected a whole lot better than 2 uses out of each one before it ripped at the seams on both of them. I love the concept of being able to fold it up after using to save space; especially since my kitchen is so small. You can use it to strain or to put on top of a put to steam something. The rim is metal and the handles are firm and won't buckle upon using which helps not to burn your hands. It's VERY durable and lightweight despite being made so well. It's SUPER easy to clean and so easy to store. It's not even hard to fold back up when you're done! It was the perfect addition to my kitchen because it's super functional.

This is nice and large, but because of its collapsible design, requires little space. It is easy to extend and because of the durable material I'm not worried that extending it and collapsing it will wear it out. When extended it is also easy to clean. It drains much more quickly than my metal colander. The holes are on the larger side. A couple strands of spaghetti escaped and I would definitely not use it for draining couscous.
