Perfect for my needs
This whisk is great! Not so big that it's hard to store, but big enough to be effective and easy to hold. The handle is easy to grip, easy to clean, and attractive. It's well balanced, the tines are a good thickness, and it seems sturdy enough to last a long time. We're not daily bakers or anything here, but it gets used at least 3 or 4 times every month and it's held up well to both hand washing and the dishwasher with no problems so far. Hopefully it will last several years.

Excellent whisk but...
Gir makes excellent whisks. You will find things whip up much faster because it has more loops. However, if you are a frequent cook, you'll know that "comfort" in tools is highly subjective. Personally, I would prefer a 9-10" whisk for everyday use. The 8" feels too small (though it is usable). And the 11" was too big for everyday tasks or for use in a smaller bowl. The 11" would be great for baking uses or whipping cream or large amounts of eggs or whatever. The handles are kind of bulky but comfortable enough since you use the tool for less time, however they are on the heavy side, so more difficult to leave the whisk in anything other than a larger bowl or it will flip out of it when you walk away. I guess I'm like Goldilocks and want it "just right" for me. I can't seem to find that sweet spot. So, since my last whisk broke, I will keep this 8" Gir and continue looking. I think my next try will be the Matfer Bourgeat 10".On a side note, I wish Gir would make a slotted fish spatula out of the same material as the flippers.
