I've gone through so many spoonulas because they are JUNK but this spoonula is a winner1. Dishwasher-safe2. Flexible enough to clean out peanut butter jar3. Sturdy enough to really scrape around the mixing bowl4. Silicone so perfect for candy-making that gets over 300 degrees5. Fun colorsI have NO complaints about this spoonula. It's worth every penny.
The product works as a spatula and as a large spoon. Handy to use when baking. Highly recommended.
I was so happy to find this, I had bought a similar item years ago in a store, after over a decade of constant use it is starting to show wear. Can't find anything like it now in stores, so had to go online, where you can't tell how flexible, etc it is. Happily, this is very similar. This spoonula is PERFECT -for so many things. I use them for almost everything- stirring in pots, mixing, etc. They are very versatile because of their flexible sides, yet sturdy because of their inner strength. Super easy to clean, and dishwasher safe. Most colors (possibly all at this point) are unavailable now, and I hope hope hope they make them available again. I want a small collection so that I never have to worry about finding another one.
I simply love this GIR spoonula. It is big and strong so it's perfect for stirring a stiff batter, and also flexible enough to scrape a bowl or pan clean. I use it for everything, it's my go-to utensil for both baking and cooking. I can't say enough good things about this kitchen tool. I've used one for several years at my daughter's house in Germany, and finally decided to get one for myself at home! GIR is well named, as they most definitely get it right! Highly recommended.
Pretty quickly after I received this product it was apparent that the silicone wasn’t hearty enough. It got a little break in it but I kept using it. It is now at the point where the whole edge is deteriorating, I can’t cook with this. It will show wear within 6 months and be like this within 1-2 years. Just future trash.Edit: full disclosure, the same day I wrote this I also emailed the company with a picture of the damaged spoon. I wasn’t asking for a replacement I just let them know honestly how their product performed and that I hoped they could use the information for reference. They emailed me back to request my address and sent me a new one. No mention of a warranty or anything, and as I said I didn’t request or demand a replacement. Just sent a new one no questions asked. I’ll see if the new one is improved and will update this. For now I added a star to bring it to 3/average as I feel this is fair while I’m waiting to get my new item.UPDATE: new spoon/spatula is holding up very well and it’s an absolute workhorse in our household. My husband and I argue about not washing it as soon as we use it because the other will want to use it to make a side to the main or scoop something. Our favorite item to cook scrambled eggs with. Going to buy another in a different color at the request of my husband so we can each have our own. Customer service had been amazing, if you have issues I wouldn’t hesitate to reach out and give them a chance. I’ll see over time how well it holds up this time.
GIR is one of my favorite brand of kitchen utensils. Their products are fantastic quality, clean up easily without staining, and perform just as should. The spoonula is also my favorite out of the bunch. It is so versatile! I have 4 in various sizes now. Totally worth it!
Used once for sautéing and it worked well. Feels good in the hand too. The only con is the edge of it isn’t even. Like it was poorly made. But it seems to work well so I guess that’s minor.
