I really like this butter dish it's the perfect size for my kerrygold butter but I also buy other regular butter and other European style butter. I can leave it on the countertop even here in Arizona and it is perfectly soft it's never gone bad. The little knife that came with it doesn't exactly fit so perfectly on the lid but honestly I just use any butter knife.
