Small Tempered Glass Cutting Board – Convenient Size

This 8x12 inch small tempered glass cutting board was missing from our cutting board collection until now. Tempered glass is safe to use for food preparation as it is non-porous, hygienic, and resistant to stains and odors. The trade-off is that tempered glass cutting boards will dull knives more quickly than wood or plastic surfaces. This KimiDitt Glass Cutting Board cleans up beautifully by hand washing or in the dishwasher. It does not slide around on my kitchen countertops, is scratch resistant, has a liquid draining channel and a hole if you prefer to hang it.When I am ready to food prep, I pull this out with my kitchen scraper and start dicing, slicing, and chopping. I am mindful to keep my knives away from the silicone edges. I believe my knives will eventually nick the silicone. The noise when a knife hits the tempered glass surface is louder than say if you were cutting or chopping on a wood surface. It takes a bit to get used to that sound.Overall, I think this small cutting board is perfect if counter space is limited and a good choice to grab to cut, chop or slice one item quickly. It is easy to use, well-made, easy to see with its vivid red silicone edging, and stain resistant. It would be a great gift for a college student or new apartment dweller. I am very pleased with this cutting board and recommend you give it a try!

Fantastic Small Tempered glass 8"x12" cutting board, cute and convenient.

I am delighted I ordered this beautiful and compact cutting board. I love the size 8"x12". I also love the silicone rim and the hole for hanging. The silicone is bright so you can't miss where your cutting board is if you put it against a cabinet for example. I have a 3 compartment sink and the middle portion is where I do most of my prep work. This cutting board fits perfectly on top! I have so many different cutting boards and they are all plastic (scratched up) and wood. I had an acrylic one (also scratched up) but never had a glass one because I have tile floor and I was afraid it would shatter. This cutting board is tempered glass so it would not shatter, it's edge is protected from nicks and it is anti-slip as the board sits on the silicone against my counter top over the sink. Not only is it small enough to handle with one hand, but it also functions not just for cutting and prepping meals, but you can use it as a tray. When not in use you can stand it up behind the sink, or on the counter side, or you could hang it if that is appropriate for your kitchen. It is good thickness and if you need to use it as a hot plate it will deliver that for you. I think it is excellent value for the money as it is so versatile and I love the fact that I will not be cutting up a bunch of microplastics when I use it. There are a couple of little slots on the silicone that I think will act as drain, but they are very small. I do not know how easily the silicone rim can be cleaned over time if it accumulates debris, I would make sure I clean it thoroughly when cutting very wet things.
