This cover is high enough that is covers plates and bowls with out touching the food. Dishwasher safe. I used to use wax paper or another plate to cover and reheat food. This is so much better. I leave it in the microwave when not in use because it is rather large.
This was mostly what I was looking for. It's very nice and heavier than expected. The knob is a good size. I was skeptical of the venting along the bottom since hot air rises, but it actually works and my food seems to be moister. I wish it was a little bigger though.Had to take off one star because, after a few uses, the ceramic nut that holds the knob on broke. I didn't realize it until I was eating and bit down on it. Luckily, no cracked teeth and I found it before swallowing it. We've continued to use the cover even though we only have half a ceramic nut now. We just make sure that no more of it has broken off before we eat. Not sure what we will do if it breaks completely because I can't see lifting the cover without the knob. Will have to find out if one of the glues would work. Can't image ever finding another nut like this. I'm sure my husband will offer to buy a 3d printer and try to make one instead of just buying a new lid. :)I wasn't sure about the little silicon brush and threw it in the drawer. Dang if it hasn't come in handy a couple of times already. It was something I didn't know I needed, but now that I have it, I will always need it.
Thoughtful design makes it durable.

I have uses this over a year and this morning put something in the microwave for 30 sec with this cover. Took it off and set it on the cupboard like I always do. A couple hours later I was in the room next to the kitchen and all of a sudden my husband and myself heard something shatter in the kitchen. I went to look and the microwave cover had exploded and glass was every where. Luckily nobody was in the kitchen at time. I got this because I didn’t like using a plastic cover in the microwave but won’t be buying one of these again. I should have taken a picture but didn’t even think about it. It was tempered glass but pieces went every where and if someone would have been standing close to it at the time it exploded they could have got hurt.
Somewhat heavy. Wished it came it came in smaller sizes. I feel it’s safer then other materials
