Color was disappointing
This cake serving set is a good weight. That's about all I liked about them.The color is not what I expected. It is bright, bold and very yellow, almost brassy. Which to me gave them a cheap and gaudy appearance. Without touching them it looked as though they were painted.There isn't anything elegant about them. The design, while intricate and detailed is too much. This further enhances the gaudy look, especially for a wedding.These just weren't what I was hoping for. But that being said they do function as intended. So if you can get past or like the color and busy details you will probably love them.

This is just beautiful! Functional and pretty and fits well in your hand. While this is listed as a wedding set, my everyday flatware has gold trim and my holiday flatware is gold-plated, plus my holiday china has a gold rim, so I will use this year round. I love the roses on the handles! I have used this for a birthday ice cream cake, and the size and good edge cut it well--ice cream cake is great, but doesn't seem to cut easily so I'm doubly glad to receive this beautiful set!The listing does not say if it is dishwasher safe, but since it's made of zinc alloy with a polished gold finish, I'd recommend hand-washing to preserve the beautiful shine and prevent any potential damage to the finish or the ornate rose details on the handles.
