I bought this as a Christmas gift for my daughter. She said it’s really easy to use and made the pasta shape she wanted. It’s worth the money and she really likes it.
This Gourmet pasta press attachment for my KitchenAid blender has been a total game-changer for my kitchen! It works fantastically and has seriously upped my cooking game. While there was a slight learning curve in figuring out exactly how much dough to feed through at once, once I got the hang of it, the process became incredibly smooth and easy. Making my own fresh pasta from scratch is now a simple, rewarding part of my routine. One of the best features is how easily it cleans up—just let any remaining dough air-dry, and it brushes right off with the included tool. It’s a high-quality, durable addition to my mixer that I highly recommend to anyone looking to level up their homemade meals. Overall a very good value do the money especially when compared to other options.
This works well with the KitchenAid Stand Mixer, but there is a learning curve for cutting the pasta. I had some trouble with the noodles sticking together, and I made sure the dough had enough flour, but I guess you need to make sure they do not stick to the bowl as they come out of the pasta maker attachment. I also tried the fusilli attachment, and it was a disaster. I have yet to try the other attachments, but from the two interchangeable plates, it is quite challenging to have the noodle hold its shape. Cleaning the attachment is slightly hard since the dough is fairly soft and can end up anywhere in the machine. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this attachment since it was very challenging for me to use. I feel as if the roller attachment would be a better choice.
We have yet to use this pasta maker, but it looks very durable and promising. We have ones that will make straight noodles, but not different shapes like this one does. The only issue I see though is that we need to use small balls of dough, maybe about walnut size. That's a lot of balls! Also, the lasagna shape. LOL! More like the size of eggs noodles my mom used to make. Definitely not wide lasagna noodles. Just wide strips about 1/4" wide. Looks easy to use and clean up should be a breeze too!
I have been wanting a pasta maker for awhile now. I recently went on a trip to Northern Italy and man, just the sheer difference between their homemade pastas and the stuff we get at the store here in the US.....now I want to ONLY eat homemade pasta lol. This is a fantastic attachment and I really like that it comes with an assortment of pasta styles. No, you can't produce full lasagna sheets, but what you can make are a type of ribbon pasta or tagliatelle. I do wish that instead of two different macaroni sizes, that they'd just included one size and then made the other one a true lasagna one or maybe one that somehow does shells. All in all I like this! Can't wait to put it to use!! The instructions look easy enough and it should be fairly easy to clean.
