So sharp and easy to use. I have used my new Gramercy Mandoline to slice apples for a galette and carrots for a salad. It creates perfect, uniformly slices allowing me to regulate the thickness much easier than using a knife. It is sturdy and I look forward to years of use.
Bought this to make homemade potato chips and it works great.. it is also great at making homemade finger chips so proceed with caution. The blade is VERY sharp and you WILL cut yourself with this product.. it hurts but you earn the right to use it.. you join a small cult-like group of mandolins users upon the first layer skin sacrifice. Welcome! We have chips!
The mandoline is easy to setup and use and works well. I thought the unit was sturdy and will last a long time. The many different uses will be fun to try. I also like the blade guard so after you use the unit you can put that back on and stop any potential accidents. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is the description claims it comes with a PAIR of cut-resistent gloves. Mine only came with a single glove. Not a big deal, but if you don't deliver 100% on the product you list, you don't deserve a 100% positive rating.
Ok, maybe not canned beans lol I'm more of a salad gal, and this mandoline has saved me so much time and aggravation! Its also safer than the way I used to cut things up. Blades are sharp and the included glove is awesome. I also bought one for my bestie who has recently begun gardening. I'm super glad to have this!
Easy to use and very sharp
So I have never had one of these danger slicers before, and was super hesitate given my more than acceptable ability to hurt myself. Finally annoyed at my inability to cut a thin sliced tomato without injury, this one caught my eye while Amazon surfing. It comes with an anti-cut glove for starters, so safety challenged folks like me can sigh with relief. It also can cut slices, French fry cuts, and those tiny julienne cuts too. Cleans up like a dream! I am sold after making a batch of radish chips in the deep fryer. If you are debating, don't. It's a high-quality tool for what you would pay for a plastic-y version at another retailer!
I bought this to make one recipe slicing apples. I found that the little plastic handle guide for using vegetables got alot harder to use as the apple got smaller. I ended up using the safety gloves to hold onto fruit and finishing that way rather than use the piece provided.Worked well enough.
