Literal Perfection of a Oil Dispenser

This is such a good piece of industrial design it deserves to be put in a museum. There are some common problems with these kind of oil dispensers, for example, many of them don't have a bigger opening so you have to use an additional funnel to add more oils, and the ones that use screw caps could get stuck after a while because oil gets into small crevasses and dry up over time (looking at you OXO Good Grip). This oil dispenser solves both problem with a downright genius solution, it has a wide collar opening with frosted glass surfaces that uses natural friction to hold the pour spout in place. It may looks questionable in theory, but in practice the pour spout will never fall off when you use the dispenser normally, even if you hold it upside down and shake it all over the place, but it will come right off when you simply use fingers to take the sprout off. The sprout will never stuck and you never need funnel to add oil, it satisfies all the practical needs while looking elegant and simple, literal perfection.

Beautiful, well designed, delicate construction.

I really like this oil dispenser. The shape and thickness of the glass really reminds me of my days spent in a chemistry lab. And yet, it has a certain simplicity, warmth, and timeless feel that is not just sterile or laboratory-esque. The clever design means that there is a built in funnel for very easy refilling; the spout has a small notch that will redirect any drips back into the container. This really is a very well thought out piece of kit. Initially, I was worried that the friction hold of the spout would not be enough and that it may come out during use (especially with vigorous pouring in the heat of the moment of cooking). However, I have not experienced this; if properly applied, the spout is reasonably secure. The pour rate is a little bit slower than average, I’d say, but this may be desirable if you are looking to limit the amount of fat/oils you are using. One worry that I have is the glass may a bit delicate for daily use in the kitchen, however, this lends to the style and attractiveness like fine stemware. For $18, there are certainly plenty of cheaper, utilitarian options out therec but, overall, it’s recommended if you like the style and are willing to baby your tools a bit. Personally, I’m thinking about getting another one. 4/5 stars.

This is small enough to not be an eye sore on your counter but big enough to hold a good amount of oil to last you a while. This is a great pour, it doesn’t come out too quickly and you can continue to pour until your desired amount of oil is dispensed. It’s unique design helps to prevent oil from dripping down the bottle and getting on your counter/hands/etc. Definitely recommend.
