Stylish, works well, hasn't broken yet!

We've had this for about a year, and it has worked well and looks nice on the kitchen counter. Take care to hold the nozzle/stopper with a finger when you pour, lest it fall out and break (and make a mess). Holding that nozzle is required by design, and once you get used to it is very easy and obvious. The nice thing about this design is that it never leaks any oil onto the outside of the bottle, even when you have to unstopper it to refill the oil. You can't say that about any other oil decanter.

Sweet, elegant, classy cruet

Just got this decanter and tested it out with some water. Got it for drizzling olive oil on pizza. Clever design: the top stays on securely when pouring but is easily removed for refilling and cleaning.I'm planning on using it a bit, but again the neat design with the cup at the top makes filling it up a breeze.Edit: During the winter here the food prep area can get cold. When that happens the olive in the cruet can solidify. I took a chance and set the cruet with solid oil in some warm water to return the olive oil to a liquid state.I was afraid the glass cruet would crack from the thermal shock. It did not and since then I've repeated the process numerous times.The oil pours at a slow steady rate. What's nice is that I can figure out the rate of oil flow. This way when I'm drizzling oil I can estimate how much I've poured just by keeping track of how many seconds I've been pouring and multiplying that by the pour rate.

Poor pouring design.

While the decanter is attractive, it has a functional issue. There’s no way for air to vent as the oil pours, which causes the flow to stop and back up in the neck. Oil needs air to enter the bottle to pour correctly, and without it, this doesn’t work as intended
