It basically works, but its slow, dough pushes past plunger, and casing doesn't lock in place
So let me list my pros, as its shorter:1.) It does in fact press out pasta in various noodle shapes2.) It doesn't require finesse. There is no hand rolling pasta thin, then into strips, etc. You just shove the dough in it and go.So now, what isn't great about it? Well for starters, one chamber full of dough for this is only enough pasta for one person. It recommends pressing the pasta directly into boiling water. This process of pressing one doughball full into the pan takes about 30-60 seconds. During that pressing, a good chunk, maybe 10-20% of the dough ball presses past the plunger and back up the tube. Then you have to immediately disassemble, pull the dough off the plunger, shove another doughball in, put it back together, then take another 30-60 seconds for the 2nd person's pasta serving.I don't think you could do 3 servings this way or the first may be overcooked. But in the end, you always end up with wasted dough in the press that got stuck behind the plunger.Another thing is, the tube where you shove your dough before pressing locks on by a very basic lock mechanism that doesn't hold itself on at all. Once you start pressing dough it'll hold on, but until then it falls off if you aren't careful which direction you hold it. That would be particularly annoying if you had your dough in the press held over the water and the entire press mechanism full fell into the water. Why not put a latch on it? Then there's the fact that this comes in a very basic box that more or less falls apart immediately. This thing is so huge that it would be great if it had a case with it. Plus with the extra plates it'd be nice to have a place to store them.Also, the port where you charge it has a rubber plug that comes completely out and off of the unit. Seems like it could easily get lost. Why doesn't it connect with a tab?Overall there are a lot of improvements this unit could use, chief among them perhaps a larger tube and faster speed, and a better seal to stop the dough from coming around the sides of the plunger. I doubt I'll use it much as its so slow.
