HOW TO MAKE YOUR SOUP TASTE EVEN BETTER: PUT IT IN THIS LOVELY BOWL!
When I opened the box and saw this floral bowl, it took my breath away. I just wanted to keep looking at it. The design is so unique. The bowl has a very large, secure handle that makes it easy to carry. The rim has a scalloped edge. The base color, which is rich and creamy, is embellished with a lovely array of flowers. The beautiful mix of colorful flowers is eye-catching. They appear all around the outside of the bowl. Moreover, flowers are inside the rim, along the handle, and on the spoon. Yes, the bowl has a matching spoon that is functional. The bowl has a sweet look, yet it is weighty, sturdy, and stable. It easily holds 12 ounces of liquid, extending just onto the flowers that adorn the inside. I washed the bowl in the dishwasher, and it came out fine. The bowl is perfect for soup but so much more. With cereal it could be a morning brightener, or with salad, a nutritious lunch. Make it a treat with ice cream. It’s so pretty that it could even be displayed with a few flowers or a small plant. A little creativity is all you need. By any means, this is not your average soup bowl. I love it.

disappointing product. pretense of charm.
packed and shipped in a manner that makes breakage or damage near impossible (set into thick, custom-cut, foam inserts --inside an exterior gift box with no extra (unused) space). nicely done.i see no signs or evidenciary aspects suggesting that there's anything "handmade" here. and the floral pattern is indisputably printed on (by machine). high value handmade ceramic pottery pieces aren't usually finished with pre-fab, mass-produced design elements, like this one has been; they're usually hand-painted, as well.so i can't agree with the statement in the listing that this product is "more than just a functional piece, it's a beautiful work of art". it's a mass-produced ceramic dishware item, which at 44$ otd, indicates that there's a value issue as well (i.e., not just a quality issue). i would expect the pricing to be half that, at most.for all these reasons, i do not experience this product as a 'comforting' and 'old-timey enjoyable' item, which seems to be what the hyperbolic rhetoric wants to subliminally suggest. in fact, when i use it, i feel the exact opposite: like i'm using a copy of something else more real --which just takes away some of the 'enjoyment' (rather than adds to it).the positives are that i like the big handle, the deep size, and the versatility.the big negative is the matching spoon, which i threw away. why?"~ because it looks even more machined than the bowl,~ because it has a hole in the handle for hanging, which i find superfluous (i can't imagine anyone hanging this. why would they?) and which makes the spoon look really unsightly (it kind of makes it look somehow 'damaged', even thought you know it's not).~ and because it's utterly out of scale with the soup bowl itself (which is really large); the spoon is too small in look AND use; it's a teaspoon. who eats soup with a teaspoon?if i had seen this item at a discount store, in a five-dollar bin, i would passed on it. so my rating is 3.5, which rounds down to three stars.

Lovely fancy bowl!

Nice, but a couple of issues
This is a VERY pretty cup that you'd not know was handmade. The shape is consistent, not out-of-round or varying in wall thickness like so many hand made cups I've seen at craft shows. This cup looks perfect enough to be machine made.The floral design is very pretty, and the spoon's floral design matches that of the cup very well. The cup and spoon set come packaged in a very well-padded box.I found the cup to be smaller than I'd expected based on the pictures in the item's description. This is both good and bad - I'd expected a larger cup, but I am happy that the cup itself is lighter than it would be had it been bigger. The interior of the cup is not smooth. Rather, it has a pebbled texture that I am not happy with. This is certainly going to make it harder to clean and less pleasant to use. This issue more-or-less relegates this cup and spoon set to be a display piece rather than a working piece.Based on the less-than-terrific aspects of this cup and spoon set, along with the price charged, this set is a less-than-terrific value for money.

Arthritic hand friendly
I got this for myself -- I like the design and color. The handle is very easy for my arthritic hands to grip and hold. It machine washed well and feels very sturdy.Interestingly the inside of the mug isn't a glossy finish -- it is a nice subtle matte. I don't think that impacts performance or cleanability. But it looks nice. On the surface this is a very nice bowl / cup. It comes in a decorated gift box and is well packaged. I can not see the value though as this is not porcelain and there is no makers mark. The included spoon in my set is crooked where the hole was made and there was no attempt to smooth the rough edges. For me I will take this out for parties and events and use this to hold candy or maybe chocolate. While it does say it is safe for the dish washer I would just hand wash this to preserve the finish.Cheers
