These bowls are beautiful, extra large, and great quality! The only problem is that they are relatively fragile due to their size. If they fall even a short distance, they are prone to cracking. So just be careful when washing them!
I love these bowls. They are the perfect size for a salad for a big family gathering, and the subtle details and designs on them make them classy without being over the top. They do have some heft to them, which makes me hope they will last for a long time. The glossy white color makes sure they will match any decor you use for a party, and the simplicity makes it so I can use it for both fancy parties, or a simple dinner get together with family.All in all, these are a winner in my book, and I do recommend to others.
Smooth and solid, with attractive and subtle patterns, make these bowls a great addition to any kitchen or decor. We are using them at our beachside home where the design reminds me of ocean waves and swaying pines. They are heavy and solid - no fear of them blowing away at an out door picnic! They are larger than expected, and would hold a giant salad, soup for several guests, spaghetti or other tasty meal. They look as if they would be great at insulating their contents - whether that be hot or cold servings.
The designs are pretty and subtle and they hold a lot of food. However I tapped a spoon on the rim of the bowl to get some of the food off the spoon and the bowl immediately chipped. For as heavy as they are they are incredibly fragile. We got them for Thanksgiving and I'm afraid to use them in the future for fear of more chipping and the potential of that going in the food in anyway. We also felt like we had to hand wash them in case they cracked or chipped in the dishwasher which also made them less desirable.
The most important thing to realize about this bowls is that they are huge - I mean, really wide. I host Thanksgiving dinners, a few parties, etc. and I thought I would be able to use these bowls for something like mashed potatoes, or to hold a salad or a Thai curry or something. But they are so big that you would need a massive amount of food to put in them, and even when you have a large gathering you (most times) don't need a ton of one thing. So they are not going to see much use for that. It's only if you had A) a large gathering, and B) everyone was eating the same thing, that it would maybe start to make sense to put food in these.I see other people are using them for bread, food prep, etc. The size is well-suited to something like that. But given that the bowls are decorative like serving bowls, I don't know how many people are thinking to use them for mixing bowls.In any case, the bowls look nice and they're easy to handle because of the lightness of the dolomite ceramic. Be aware that dolomite is less durable than other ceramics and is prone to scratches.Although I will not be able to often use these bowls in the way that I'd hoped, that's on me for not really checking out the dimensions of the bowls. So I will give them 5 stars because I can't think of anything wrong with them.
These are perfect for my college child to use in his apartment. They are sturdy and the perfect size for a 3-4 person serving of salad or pasta, and fit easily into whatever decor scheme you may have going on.
We purchased these large bowls to help with our bread making efforts. The bowls are designed to be shallow like a pasta bowl unlike a mixing bowl which has higher walls compared to the diameter.The 2 bowls are a bright white color with two different patterns embossed on the outside surfaces. The bowls have a look and finish that reminds me of a fine, porcelain dinner bowl. The bowls seem to have a thinner wall thickness compared to other crockery bowls we own. But, It's hard for me to judge if it's light weight as I don't own another bowl of similar size. In my hand, they don't seem overly heavy. Of course, a bowl of this size may get very heavy when ingredients are added.And, although not critical for our intended use it's nice to know the bowls are microwave and dishwasher safe.The bowls work great for rolling dough. They are a perfect, flat bottom shape, and the shiny, smooth finish is easy to clean.The bowls meet the descriptions and images on the website. We're very happy with the 2 pieces we received. They look good and have a smooth, very white finish. The are very wide and broad for there height. These would be great for salads, pasta or any large serving of food. For us they work great for rolling dough balls. We would recommend them
