Nice Bench Scrapers, GREAT Price

Each scraper is a different color, and each are individually wrapped so my mind immediately went to stocking stuffers, or secret gift pals.They’re the perfect size to fit my hand when I’m working with pastry. I can cut in cold butter or lard without having to work fast to keep my warm fingers from melting the fat. When I made dumpling dough, these worked really well to scrape the bowl and get the sloppy dough onto my kneading/cutting surface. The rounded end is beveled which helps scrape the bowl more efficiently. The flat end is just squared off, so it doesn’t work great to scrape my work surface (especially with delicate pastry), but I’ve got plenty of other tools for that precise work. There’s just enough flexibility in the scraper to conform to most of my bowl sizes without being so flexible it’s useless. I also like that they’re plastic so don’t make that horrible noise (fingernails on a blackboard anyone?) when metal scrapes against metal since all my mixing bowls are stainless steel.Are there better-quality bench scrapers out there? Sure, but a 4 pack of decent quality scrapers at $5 for the lot is a great price. If you’re new to working with pastry or any dough and aren’t sure what to get, start here. The $5 investment will be well worth it, and you’ll be able to decide what your specific needs are to move on if you need to.
