This really does hold two full sticks of butter. I need one like this and after reading so many reviews about these I selected this on for just that reason. It's attractive and very well made. The "bell" where the butter is stored is smooth and there are no "corners" making it easy to use every last bit of your butter. Easy to clean, too, dishwasher top rack.
Love it! Beautiful piece of ceramic work! I had never seen a butter bell before until I visited Europe and used one and now I have one at my home in the US. Very clever, using water as a seal to keep bacteria from forming on the butter. And you just leave it on the dining room table. And if I’m going to be gone for an extended period I just put it in the refrigerator. Ancient design that works great today.

Cute and effective but the handle broke off after a couple weeks of usage. It fits a stick of softened butter. Looks good on my countertop. Guess I’ll be gluing it back on.
This works so well. I'm in Arizona and it still keeps the butter. Would recommend. I got the white color, goes with everything. Sturdy. We'll made. Lid fits very well. So easy to use.
