Fun kitchen tool but could stay hot longer
I got this Countrybox heated ice cream scooper to replace an old manual one that broke a few months back. I figured I'd give it a try since I never liked wrestling my ice cream out of the carton and everything seems to be turning electric these days so I might as well jump on the bandwagon. In the words of my daughter, this scooper is "Fire!" And, really, that nearly translates to the amount of heat that this puts out. It heats up to 158 degrees Fahrenheit and then cuts through ice cream with ease -- at least on the first two scoops. It gets progressively cooler as you continue scooping since the ice cream naturally cools down the tip. So, you do have to wait for a few seconds between scoops to let it heat up again. Once heated, it's basically a scoop, pause, repeat situation with waiting for it to reheat.The grip feels strong and ergonomically balanced in my hand. It has a nice weight to it, which adds to the experience of it feeling like a tool, rather than just an everyday kitchen utensil. The button is easy to operate and it turns the heating element on/ off by holding it for a of couple seconds. This feature makes it less chance to accidentally turn it on and off while scooping. It takes about a minute and a half to two minutes get to the maximum heat of 158 degrees. The heating element is located at the top center while the rest of the spoon heats up through conduction. You can also feel the warmth in the handle, but it never gets hot.Overall, I think this scooper works well and definitely makes scooping easier. I do, however, wish that it would stay hot through all the scooping, rather than cool down so quickly between scoops. It is a fun tool to have in the kitchen but also a little pricey for an ice cream scooper that you might not use everyday. I suppose it would make a good gift for a house warming party or holiday present.

Allow one minute to heat up, then scoop!
This is a nifty little gadget if you're part of the overly cold freezer crew, or hoping to dip into a pint of Talenti — a brand which tries to make its products impenetrable. Not today, Talenti! This thing charges up with the included USB-C charger and keeps a charge for a while (not sure yet how long, because it hasn't lost its charge over two weeks and two uses). If you turn it on and tried to use it immediately, it won't work any better than any other scoop, but if you allow a good minute for it to heat up, it's pretty satisfying how silkily it peels perfect ice cream balls out of the carton or tub. No tendonitis or waiting around for your ice cream to melt. I do like products that reward my impatience.The only con with this is that the power button always seems to be right where my thumb hits when I grip this. There has to have been a better placement for the power button (like on the bottom?). But because you don't have to exert much pressure on the handle, I haven't had any accidental shutoffs.
