Nicely machined grinder! The consistency of grind is superb. I like the magnetic collecting base.A salt grinder of like design would be appreciated by the many customers that have this pepper grinder.
I was not sure what to expect but this mill is absolutely amazing. First, lets start with pepper grounds. So the mill can be adjusted to ultra fine to ultra course (it is a numerical adjustment that you twist). When it is set to the coarseness that you wish, you twist and the heavy duty mechanism crushes the pepper so well. You get a good amount with each twist and the lid magnetizes to the base when done. Its great!What I like about this is that the grinder also works great for grinding herbs and other seeds as well. I mix my own dry herb mixes, pop this in and can grind them into anything I want. Its like a mechanical mortal & pestle. Remember, the instructions specifically say do not add salt to this mill because it could damage it. But the herbs and seeds work fine for me. I love it!
This is an extraordinary pepper mill. For the money, I would expect nothing less. I'm not a metallurgist or an engineer so I don't know what all the metals and coatings are; the only ones I recognize are titanium and stainless steel but the mill certainly is heavy. The chamber is easy to fill. It took me awhile to figure out how to use the funnel; there didn't appear to be anywhere for the magnets to attach until I took the top off to fill it. The magnets attached the funnel to the body and made it super easy to fill. The sizing ring is accurate and ranges from nearly invisible to big pieces. Is it worth $170? For myself, that's a little out of whack but for my sister, who demands the best/most expensive of everything, it's perfect. It would certainly make a good gift. If you want the best, this is perfect for you!
I have been using this for a couple months now and I really like it! The only thing I don't love is that they tend to leave debris on whatever surface they are left sitting on. I know this is just how it goes when it comes to grinders, but I wish they wouldn't leave such a mess. For the rest - the quality and craftsmanship, performance & look are all 5 star! I would highly recommend.

There's a finely adjustable coarseness dial so you can really control grind size. The magnetic chamber design makes it easy to refill with the included funnel. For cleaning, open the magnetic chamber, brush out spice residue with the included brush, and wipe the burrs and interior with a cloth — don't use water or a dishwasher. Generally, that should be adequate for switching between different hard spices, like peppercorns to coriander or salt, and help limit flavor transfer. (As a suggestion, for stronger-flavored spices or lingering aroma, grinding some uncooked white rice can help absorb remaining oils.). Lots of thoughtful details make this mill a practical upgrade for those who grind a variety of seasonings. It would be quite an impressive gift for the friend who loves spices and would appreciate the versatility, reliability and quality of this mill. (Others may might just find the mill heavy, overkill, and too much for their budget.)
This is an amazing pepper grinder. It comes packed in a very nice box and is ready to use right out of the box. It has a very substantial heft to it and everything about it is solid quality workmanship. I’ve been referring to it as the Mercedes of pepper grinders.The craftsmanship of this grinder is amazing. I never thought I’d gush so much over a pepper grinder, but this is so well made. The dial to adjust the grind turns with such precision and smoothness. The grind is better than any pepper grinder I’ve ever used. Very consistent grind and you only need turn it a little to get a good amount of pepper out.It comes with a base that has a rubber pad on the bottom. The base attaches with a magnet and stays attached nicely which keeps any stray pepper off the counter when it’s stored. Unfortunately for me I sometimes forget to remove it before grinding. That’s really on me though and all it does is collect pepper in the base which is easy enough to clean out. It also comes with a funnel to fill it that also attaches with a magnet. You press the button on the top of the grinder, slide the top off and replace it with the funnel. It really makes filling the grinder super easy. The downside is that you need to store the funnel somewhere and then remember where you stashed it.My only (minor) complaints:- The coarse setting could be a little coarser.- The rubber base was coming off when I removed it from the box, but seems to be staying put for now.- When going from a coarse setting to a fine setting it can be difficult to turn the dial. I suspect this is because there are pepper corns under the grinding wheel so you may need to grind some of that pepper out as you adjust it back down.Overall, it’s an impressive pepper grinder and produces a very nice grind of pepper. The downside is the price, but it’s definitely worth the price if you have the means.
