I use it all the time, and it's a cinch to clean
Until you have a spider strainer you may not know how much you need it! My first one had a bamboo handle. Tools in my kitchen have to look out for themselves, so it went into the dishwasher with everyone else, and didn't last.This was the replacement. It is WAY more sturdy in every way. And it's made of quality stainless steel that will hold its appearance and clean up in the dishwasher without any annoying special attention. I think it's going to have a very long-lasting position in my kitchen.In case you're wondering what to use it for: removing cooked ravioli from boiling water, any tme you need to strain chunks out of some liquid you're cooking, removing any small pieces that are done from a liquid.

Easy to use, and makes the chef feel like a seasoned professional.
I am so pleased with this. It is convenient, and I get to indulge a little, as it is pretty too, and I just plain like using it to scoop out my fritters from the hot oil, when frying. I've used it more than several times, now, and it makes frying easier.

Dishwasher safe. love it.
This product works great for me and I love the fact that it's dishwasher safe. No matter how you scrub this style of spider strainer you can never quite get that little bit of oil out from between the wires. This usually makes it so the next time you fry the oil builds up on that spot again and again. Now that I can throw this in the dishwasher the high heat and water jets take care of that for me. I still give it a once over with a brush to get out the bigger chunks of things but the fine cleaning is done in my dishwasher. bought this a while ago and still love it. Great product.

Good quality stainless spider. Wires are wrapped well with no loose ends to tag the food or scratch your skin. I recently purchased another "cheaper" spider from Amazon that was complete garbage. The mesh basket had broken wires, but even worse, had been chromed or nickel plated by someone that was clearly at the end of a very long, overtime shift as they could not see the disaster they had created.I liked this spider so well I ordered the 7".

Replacing My Dead Spider
Once upon a time I had a spider from San Francisco Chinatown, but after nearly 20 years, it finally disintegrated as the brass and bamboo turned unappetizing colors. I've been without a spider for years, so finding this was a real thrill. It is not large, but for my uses it is the perfect size. And since it's made out of stainless, I know that it should last indefinitely. I feel that I made a very good buy.
