Keeps hot overnight
If you are debating between the two 2 liters (one with screw top, one with grey buttons), I recommend the grey buttons one (this one) because the opening is larger, easier to wash (described as "wide mouth"). Instead of screwing on, press the buttons to remove the lid and that's easier too. The screw top has a 1.5" opening mouth while the wide mouth has a 2.5" opening. My hand is 3 inches in width (5'3" body height) and can reach down to the bottom of the one with the wider opening to clean the inside but cannot fit my hand into the 2.5" opening. I'd rather wash with a paper towel than use the rubber cleaning "brush" that's included.The wide mouth pitcher is a tad wider (see their comparison photos) but not by much. The mechanism for pouring is the same. If you're like me and have weirdness about hot liquid hitting the rubber, it's a no-win, both have hot liquid hitting the rubber when dispensing. Note the photo of one the lid, the very bottom black piece drops down like shown when the lid is pressed to pour.I dropped off hot tea around 7pm to my son who was sick at the dorm and it was still hot the next afternoon. The complaints of it not keeping liquid hot could be due to the temp of the liquid to begin with. I took the water to a rolling boil. I also put boiling water inside the carafe to heat up the inside beforehand, then emptied and poured in the hot tea. Note the first sell date, the wide mouth one is a newer version. I highly recommend this carafe.

Large pot, wide mouth, keeps stuff hot a long time.
This is a LARGE carafe. I made some tea and it held two kettle's worth. I probably should have picked one that was half the size - this will serve a couple of cups to a few adults - probably hold enough coffee for a typical family gathering. If not more. I always preheat a thermos with hot water - especially if they are stainless inside like this one. I'm drinking the tea I made at 11am - it's 11 pm and it's still steaming hot.Followup: 1pm the next day, so 26 hours later - not steaming hot, but still warm. Almost to the point where you'd want to microwave to heat it up.

Nice Carafe, But Doesn’t Stay Hot as Long as Advertised

Our other (cheaper) carafe's bit the dust. So glad I went for a better design and higher quality. Really appreciate the side tabs which let the pressure off before you pour. Keeps coffee hot for appx 2-3 hrs, but it does remain warmer for longer. If longer, no issue as we just pop in the microwave.

Ordinarily, I would not buy an item with only 3 ratings. I was interested in another carafe by this company with tons of great ratings, and I asked the question of what size the opening was, as I need to thoroughly clean it. Perfect for my Breakfast Buffet
After reading some mediocre reviews on this product, I was really hesitant on ordering. I am so glad I did! It kept the coffee hot for hours but I 1st added boiling hot water to the carafe for about 20 minutes prior (dumping out the water then putting hot coffee into the carafe) and it kept the coffee hot for hours and tasting delicious.
