So much nicer than a block on the counter.

Had to be convinced to give up a drawer but it is a great idea. Fits perfectly side to side, and in the back is space for an apple corer, egg slicer - all cutting utensils in one drawer. The extra counter space is great as well. Took a few weeks to relearn where my knives were, but very easy to reach in/out, place in the appropriate slot. Super attractive wood, great design, easy to wipe clean, sturdy, holding up without concern.

This Knife Block is Amazing & Exceeded my Expectations!!!

This knife block is well-made and easy to clean since the unit has a detachable feature. Very pleased that it fits my chef's knife, my longest knife (pictured), and the sharpening steel. I was able to put one of my larger knives in the top rack that is designed for smaller knives; it fit, but the tip had the potential to stick out a bit. So I put a piece of styrofoam that came in the package in the back of the drawer to protect the knife and the drawer.It helps that the drawer is slightly wider than the block since it makes it easier to pull out the knives on each end. Just find something to keep it wedged in the drawer so the block does not move. Also found that knives with thick handles that are next to each other may be harder to remove. You can pull out the knife by the end just enough to pick up the knife by the metal to make removal easier (see photo).Could not be more pleased with this purchase! Not only is it functional and attractive, but it's so much safer than reaching into a messy drawer full of an assortment of knives. Highly, highly recommend this product!!
