long lasting, great design
Works as it should. Mold easily demolds.
I gave this mold a try another night and it worked so well I came back and ordered more varieties. Tuiles turned out great and very versatile with this particular pattern - you can leave them whole or, while they are hot and pliable right out of the oven and mold, you cut them in half widthwise or diagonally, roll them and twist them into any shape you like. They are very fragile once they cool down (which is very fast) so handle them gently and store in an airtight container to preserve crispiness.I sprayed some oil on them before the first batch as was recommended and unmolding went very easy. Didn't use any more oil, but the tuile batter contains lots of butter so, likely, no oiling of the mold was needed at all in the first place. Just for info, a simple tuile batter has only four basic ingredients: egg whites, confectionery sugar, all purpose flour and melted butter taken in the same proportions by weight. Stir them together, add some flavoring (vanilla, almond or lavender extract etc) and, perhaps, some food coloring, let the batter rest while you're preheating the oven and you're good to go. Each batch took me about 6-7 min at 350F plus convection.I don't think they will work for chocolate - unmolding will very likely break them into pieces. So I would suggest using this mold for tuiles: sweet or savory, made with tuile batter or just tuile sugar.
These are very fine molds, meaning some very thin parts to them. I bought them hoping to use for dark chocolate, but there is no way to get them out of the form without them breaking. It's probably fine for sugar work however.
Great for small honey tule
Love it! They come out beautiful but have to use a pick to release.
Easy to use & clean
