The thickness of the boards means they don't bend, they are sturdy and solid. They look so nice, I almost didn't want to use them for cutting boards.Bamboo is a very durable wood and although it is possible they would hold up to the drying cycle of a dishwasher, I have chosen to wash mine by hand to preserve the look and feel. In the past I have thrown my boards into the washer, they were only about 1/2 as thick, but they cracked and warped.Great quality and look for a nice price.
