The BEST Kitchen Towels I've Ever Had (which says a LOT)
Simply by far and away the BEST kitchen towels I've ever had -- and I'm "old enough to know better"!!Pros:1) 100% Cotton -- yeah! Contrary to a review questioning this, to me they sure seem to be as advertised2) A happy-medium in weight: Thick enough to absorb well (more re: that below), but not to thick to dry out in reasonable time3) An interesting weave that I've never seen before: the outer side is mostly the named color, with maybe 20% white visible; the reverse (or inner side the way I hang them on a 3-armed rack) is the reverse color scheme: maybe 80% white with 20% of the color. Even though I hang them so that the white w/color inner side is also visible, it doesn't bother me in the least. I'm no textile expert, but as a STEM person who likes to analyze things, I believe this unique weave contributes to the great absorbency while maintaining a reasonably fast drying time, and will contribute to their longevity.4) Absorbent! As absorbent as any kitchen towel I've used.5) As fast a drying time as thinner towels I've used. I think the weave (see #3) contributes. I used to prefer the "popcorn" texture for drying time, but these do as well in this regard. I decided to go with these because the Amazon Basics popcorn style I bought 2 yrs ago is no longer sold, and half of those already developed holes because they were thinner.6) Unlike the popcorn style, these have NO thinner parts that are large enough to let the ends of a rack (or finger nails even) start poking holes in them or wearing out from being the weaker link.7) The colors I received (navy, green which is a bit towards teal, though they have a separate teal color, and a bright/true red that is NOT orange-y nor too blue) are true to their appearance on my monitor: while the navy is navy (with white interspersed, as pix show), it's a true navy and therefore more subdued (they do offer what seems to be a brighter "blueberry", too) the other 2 colors are beautifully bright. The colors go perfectly with my kitchen which is decked out in primary & other bright colors to enliven the walnut cabinetry. These towels also seem to come in colors for nearly every kitchen!8) Obviously, they work well -- actually far better than expected. They work like a charm9) Net: while not the lowest cost towels on the market, on current sale (3/25) most colors are on sale and many of the colors (including these) offer an additional 10% off. Grab them while you can ! It's hard to find a GOOD kitchen towel, and these are the best -- for only about $4 each when on sale.10) I expect that each of these towels will last many years, instead of my past experience of a typical 2-3 years only. It's the quality of the cotton and the unique weave that leads me to think so.11) Stitching is fine, and they washed up beautifully even on warm, with no loss of color. No need to iron! Note: due to compression for shipping, they will look thin before you wash them, but don't let that fool you. A QUALITY product.Cons: I wish they cost less, BUT they are so good and today a fair value.Net result: I just bought another 2 sets -- with the expectation that between 3 sets of 6 each, it will be a VERY long time before I have to shop for kitchen towels again -- if ever! Highly recommend: "10 stars."
