Excellent product and the lid does stay on if you put it on correctly! I've seen some reviews that say the lid comes off during use...but if you'll notice, two of the corners on the lid are rounded and two are squared. The same thing on the bin. If you attach the lid to the bin correctly - round corners on top of each other and square corners on top of each other - and not backwards, the lid stays on totally.This is an excellent product for the cost and value. I am mostly using it for dicing because I have a different slicing device. That device does not dice, so that's why I bought this. And for the price, you can't go wrong. Just put the lid on the right way!And it's helpful if you slice up what you're dicing into chunks. There's a real good video attached to the reviews of a man doing a lot of dicing of onions and tomatoes and peppers and he has them all chopped up in large chunks. The dice works better that way! Wish I had bought this years ago.

Doesn't stay closed
Only used it once so far. Did the job but every time I cut veggies, the cover would come completely off when I opened it to put another veggie in. It doesn't lock down, unless it's just mine. I put an elastic around it to keep it from happening over and over.
