(2-3 weeks in use)Great knife!! Has become my go to, usurping my J. A. Henkels chef.The handle feels heavy at first but oddly does not affect or feel unbalanced and quickly becomes comfortable. Very stable even in small hands, it will not rotate!! I've thin sliced frozen ginger without fear, not something I cannot say about other (often far more expensive) quality kitchen knives. Edge is still "scary sharp" with only a pass or two of a chef's steel to re-stabilize the edge.5 star for sure!!!

True Damascus or not, a VERY SHARP knife!

I bought this for my wife as a Xmas gift, but I had to check it out before wrapping. So, I'm not certain as to whether it is true Damascus clad or not. That does not affect the functionality of this Chinese made knife. The core and cutting edge is what the knife is all about. Yes, Chinese made, but I knew that. Some of what comes out of that country is garbage, but after doing research, some of the knives using Japanese steel are pretty decent. This knife came RAZOR SHARP RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. At the price point I purchased this at, it was a pretty good deal. So, for those who expected a $400 knife for $30-$40 dollars, you will likely be disappointed. If you don't know how to treat or use a knife, you will be disappointed.
