Great
I purchased this HOTEAGLE OVER THE SINK Dish Rack. The way this newrack is set up everyone in our house has no problem using it. The first one I purchased was not as user friendly as the picture made it out to be. I purchased this HOTEAGLE over the sink dish rack, because of issues we kept having keeping our first dish rack clean. After rinsing off our plates and larger cups, the water drops off them onto all the cleaned and rinsed items on the bottom rack. After struggling with the old oversized awkward and cramped two layer sink dish rack. The HOTEAGLE Over the Sink Dish Drying Rack has been a game-changer in our kitchen. When we assembled this dish drying rack we realized we could adjust it to fit our sink. Not everyone’s sink is the same size. Unlike our previous rack, you don’t have to squeeze your hand through tight spaces to grab a glass or plate. Everything is accessible, which makes a huge difference when you’re putting dishes away. My wife is 5’1”, she can easily reach everything without stretching or struggling. Our old rack made it frustrating to organize plates and dishes together, but this one just makes sense. Everything has a place on this drying rack. You can arrange items quickly without feeling like you are playing Tetris every time you do your dishes. If you’ve been dealing with a bulky, poorly designed dish rack, designed to put as many dishes and cups in a small area. The HOTEAGLE dish rack is worth considering. It’s made our kitchen routine so much smoother, and faster. I told my wife I wish we would have upgraded to this drying rack sooner
First, what I like about it:♦ It freed up several squre feet of countertop space to the left of our sink by moving most of the drainage racks into formerly unused space over the sink.♦ The drips now fall into the sink rather than onto a big diverter pan on our countertop.♦ Washed dishes are placed directly in front of where they are washed rather than off to the side and beneath overhead cabinets.♦ Having dry dishes in front of our face instead of off to the side adds a sense of urgency to putting them away. Why I did not assign five stars:♦ The extension bar is two inches too short for our sink/cabinet installation, Having an optional extension bar that is at least 6 inches longer would have been perfect. As it is, the retaining screws had to be put at the very ends of that extension bar.♦ Our sink is the old cast iron type with the high back. After getting it all assembled and partially installed, it had to be taken back out to flip the lower back bar so that the screws did not hit the sink, plus enabling them to be tightened.♦ The bowl rack works well for small bowls, but larger bowls must just be placed flat, consuming nearly all or all of the rack for one bowl.♦ The silverware receptacle is too small. We had to add another with some binder clips to provide adequate space.♦ The rack for knives allows the longer knives to extend beyond the bottom, creating the potential for cutting ourselves. The shorter knives with handles heavier than the blade fall over, so they need to take some of that valuable silverware space.♦ The rack for glasses is tenuous and unstable. One of our best glasses was broken when the rack was bumped, causing it to be thrown into the sink from the height of the rack.♦ The hooks that hold the racks to the frame only fit the four main back bars. They do not fit the extension bars nor the leg bars, adding to the instability problemsSOLUTIONS:♦ I added a one-inch shim to one of our cabinets to compensate for the short extension bars so that the frame could be stabilized against the wall cabinet ends.♦ Attached an additional silverware basket with 2" Binder clips.♦ Placed the knife rack such that the knife tips would touch the back of the sink, reducing the danger.♦ Added draining drying mats to each side, under the front foot to provide a place for drying large bowls and other larger objetcs while still allowing use of that counter space when no large objects are there being dried.SO, EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE A LOT OF WORK-AROUNDS, the plusses are of greater value than the minuses. This is why four stars rather than less. Just go into it knowing it isn't perfect ...
I recently saw something similar for the first time at my friend's studio home, and thought it was a brilliant design. Needless to say I was super excited when I saw this on Amazon, and it has not disappointed.I love (almost) everything about this dish drying rack. It's made of lightweight coated metal, so it's sturdy but also rust-resistant. The width is adjustable by quite a bit actually, which means that when I replace my sink later next year that I'll be able to continue using it. The height is enough to be out of the way, but not so tall that it's impractical for us Short Queens. The white color works super well for my space, so much that it blends in to the point where I barely even notice it (not an eyesore).Functionally, I also really appreciate how modular all the racks/baskets/etcetera are; almost all the components can be moved and placed pretty much anywhere on the rack. The racks themselves also hold a surprising amount of weight. The only aspect I don't completely love is I wish I could have it sit forward a bit, so that I wouldn't get so much water all over behind my sink. Even for people who have completely and properly sealed areas around their sink, having water dripping on your countertops daily for long periods will likely inevitably cause issues; this is especially true for people like me who have super hard water. I digress... I just wish it sat forward a little bit more, but that would likely require a redesign to accommodate for sink faucet placement.Overall I absolutely love this new dish drying rack, and I'm super happy with it. Just look at my photos and you can see all the things I'm able to dry at once!
This over the sink dish drying rack is very practical and helps save counter space. The two-tier design holds plenty of dishes, glasses, and utensils, and it can extend to fit larger sinks. The construction feels sturdy, and the white finish looks clean and modern. It is easy to assemble and adjust, and water drains neatly into the sink without pooling. This dish drainer is perfect for keeping the kitchen organized while drying dishes efficiently.
