Quality Average-Thickness Piping Bags with Non-Slip Texturing on One Side at a Good Price!
These HOTEC Disposable Piping Bags are just what you need if you want a no muss-no fuss decorating experience! When you’re finished, you can just throw the bag away—icing and all! I mean seriously, who’s going to decorate a cake with more than one icing color and clean out the piping bag after each color? This way, you can have all of your colors ready and available, and use them like a painter’s palette!The bags are of average thickness. Plenty thick enough for frosting! But if you want to pipe very thick fillings, like for pastry, you might want to get thicker heavy-duty reinforced piping bags that are made for that purpose, that cost about twice as much.These bags are made of food-safe plastic—smooth on one side and textured with tiny raised dots on the other. Very thoughtful of them to make a textured surface that will keep your buttery, icing-coated hands from slipping! The only way they could improve this would be to texture the plastic on both sides.I had some difficulty prying the bags apart. They are pressed very tightly together in stacks of 100. But once I could remove a single bag, opening it was no problem.These could be used directly, by just snipping a tiny bit off of the tip. Great for drizzling chocolate or royal icing! But if you want to decorate a cake with fancy patterns, you will want piping tips. If you do not already have piping tips and a coupler that will work with these bags (as I don’t), you might want to buy the 120 bags with the coupler and piping tips included. (I vaguely remember missing my chance at that set on Amazon Vine two months ago—so I just bought one. Cheap enough!)I’ve tried a number of tools to decorate cakes and have failed miserably with all of them. Piping bags may still be the simplest, the most efficient to use, and the easiest to control. And with these bags, you always have plenty on hand to cover all of those mistakes as you climb the learning curve! Easy to use, easy to throw away! These bags are of average thickness and have one non-slip surface. They are a good buy at 4.5 cents apiece. The best buy, however, especially if you want to decorate cakes, is the set of 120 piping bags that comes with 12 metal decorating tips, 2 couplers, and 3 icing scrapers. These cost 5 cents apiece for the piping bags (as opposed to 5.5 cents apiece for the set of 100 bags), with the decorating tips, couplers, and scrapers essentially thrown in free! If you just want replacement piping bags, you can get them for up to 25% less from another company, but they may not be as good quality. These piping bags are high quality enough to be reliable cake decorating companions at a reasonable price. You can’t go wrong with these!

I’ll be honest right out of the gate—you won’t be seeing any photos of my finished work. Some people have a gift for delicate, swirling beauty; I have a gift for making a cupcake look like it survived a structural collapse. But a man can’t blame his tools if he isn’t using the right ones, and my previous struggle was a matter of sheer physics.You see, I’ve been using these little twelve-inch bags, and being a bit stubborn—or perhaps just chronically optimistic—I overfill them every single time. There is a specific kind of tragedy that occurs when you apply pressure and the buttercream decides to make a break for the back door instead of the nozzle. It’s a mess, it’s frustrating, and it’s frankly a bit embarrassing.These Hotec bags, however, are sixteen inches. That extra four inches makes a world of difference. Suddenly, there is plenty of room to move. I can get a substantial amount of frosting in there and still have enough "tail" left over to get a real, solid twist on the thing. It stays contained. No matter how much pressure I put on it, the bag holds its shape.The material is somewhat thicker than standard and has this slightly gridded, stiff texture to it, too. It’s not that flimsy plastic that feels like it’s going to surrender at any moment. It’s anti-burst, which is a comforting thought when you’re really leaning into a stiff frosting. You want the flow to go exactly where you pointed it, and these bags have the backbone to make sure that happens. I managed to get through a whole batch without a single blowout or a stray glob of cream ending up where it wasn't invited.At a hundred bags to a box, I’m set for weeks, even at my frantic pace. The price is reasonable, the grip is solid, and for once, the only thing struggling in the kitchen is my own lack of artistic talent. It’s a good, honest product that understands sometimes, you just need a little more room to handle the job.

Good disposable bags
This pack of 100 disposable piping bags is pretty decent. The bags are a good size, not too large, but big enough to get a good cup or two of frosting in them. The plastic isn't very thick, but I didn't have any issues with them except when I messed up and cut the tip too far and ended up blowing out the tip, but I think that was user error. My only complaint is that the plastic used has a smooth side and a rough side, to provide grip - but they have been put together so that the outside of the bag is half rough half smooth and the inside is the same. This means that half of hte inside of the bag grips the frosting and half the outside provides less grip. Otherwise they were easy to use, are a good value and were easy to use in decorating our cupcakes. I would not call them durable, but that isn't the point of a disposable item. Good value for a piping bag that will be fine for most uses
I was a little surprised at the shape of these piping bags. Usually, both sides of the bag are the same length. But with these, one edge is about 11.5in and the other is closer to 13in. It won’t affect functionality since the bag will be twisted down anyway, but it was something I wasn’t expecting. The bags are made of a thinner plastic than I am used to, but they work fine. I would expect with extremely thick frosting, and/or a very small tip that required more pressure on the bag, it’s possible that this bag might split where a thicker one would not. But for most uses these bags work fine and they are very low cost, making them a good value.
