Fantastic scissors; first-rate quality.
VERY sturdy and nicely made with a brushed or matte finish, not polished. The little rosettes you see where the blade joins the handles aren’t just decoration. They are rivets that secure the handles to the blades. The handles are metal too, not plastic. The blades are very sharp in cutting action but the way the blades are ground they’re not excessively sharp to the touch, definitely less accidental injury risk than a knife blade. Note that the blades don’t separate for cleaning as some kitchen scissors do.The small serrated areas between the handles that’s labelled as a “walnut opener” is also great as a twist-off bottle cap opener. We haven’t had them long enough to say if there’s any rust or deterioration over time but I’m confident there won’t be. Unless you lose them, this is probably the last pair of kitchen scissors you’ll need to buy.

Strong and durable
With no plastic parts, these scissors are heavier than your standard pair of kitchen scissors, but not too heavy. The scissor blades are stainless steel. I'm not sure what the handle is made of. Maybe aluminum? They feel strong and durable and feel like they will last. The ergonomic handle makes whatever work you're doing easy and comfortable. They are big enough for my husband with large hands to use, but not too big for my small hands. The scissors are very sharp and glide through whatever you're cutting. I was able to cut through zip ties very easily. I had to use quite a bit of force to get through zip ties using the old kitchen scissors that came with my knife block. So far, I have tested with paper, cardboard, zip ties, food packaging, and snipped some dead leaves from plants. I haven't tried to cut through bones, but I feel like these would do the job well. They are sharp! The longer, flat side of the handle can be used to press your palm against if you need to stab into something, like when you're cutting up a whole chicken, or whatever else you'd want to jab into. There's a bottle opener, a fish scaler and a nut cracker. The bottle opener and nut cracker will come in handy for me. I've been using a cheap nut cracker and the hinges are now loose. This busted through a walnut and pecan with ease.Another bonus is that you can take these apart to wash either by hand or in the dishwasher. You can make sure you remove the gross stuff from between the blades. No more trying to get the scrub brush bristles between the blades. The description says you can take them apart in 3 seconds without tools. This is something I could not accomplish. You're supposed to be able to remove the nut with your hand, but my hands aren't strong enough to do it. It will be easy enough for me to grab a wrench when I need to wash it.Overall, it's a great tool. The price is right!

Great Replacement for my Henckel
After many years of solid use, my old Henckel's heavy duty kitchen shears were finally due for a replacement. Before buying another set of Henckel's, I figured these were worth a try.So far, I've been very impressed. These seem to handle any job with ease and are performing just as well as the old Henckel shears.Cutting the backbone out of a chicken was a breeze while the handles are comfortable and provide plenty of torque for the tougher jobs. The blades are super sharp and I have not noticed that they are getting dull. The only feature of these shears that I don't quite understand is the serrated edge on the outer side of one of the blades. It's not really sharp enough to cut anything, so I'm not sure what it's there for other than an aesthetic feature.Other than that, these are a really great set of kitchen shears.

Wonderful Scissors. I have already bought several more.
These scissors are the best scissors I have ever owned, and I have gone through many, many pairs of scissors, from the cheap throwaway kind up through some very expensive scissors (received as a gift). These are a flawless, industrial, multi-function, and precision instrument, along with being so very sharp. I am not exaggerating. I did not know scissors could be made this well. I would give them ten stars if I could, and even that does not express how much I love them. I have already bought several more pairs as gifts, because they are just that fine. They will cut anything. Yes, you definitely need them. Buy two. You will be glad you did.

Difficult to separate for cleaning
In spite of their claims, a tool (wrench or pliers) was needed to separate the two pieces for cleaning the first time. Putting the two pieces back together with the bolt and 4 washers that are provided was a chore. Perhaps the scissors are sharp and durable, but I’ll never know because I immediately returned them. Separating and rejoining the two pieces for cleaning purposes should not be such a chore.

Excellent cutting blades with handles that could be more economic
First, these scissors are a welcome addition to my kitchen armament. Their blades are extremely sharp, cut with precision, have an integrated bone cutter, bottle opener, and even have a gripping surface inside the handles to help open bottles. They feel heavy and solid.in the hand in a good way, in no small part because the handles are made of solid cast metal. All these features would rate a five star review.I do have a reservation that made me take off one star. These handles are the product of a Space Age design aesthetic gone wild, in that they are angular and chunky, which gives them a certain kind of beauty. However, I would gladly trade that beauty for handles that are more ergonomically designed and comfortable in the hand, even those these work fairly well.I will use these for a long time and will appreciate their great cutting ability. However, each time I use them, I will silently curse that design aesthetic that privileges looks over function. For shame, fancy Japanese designers. For this, I deduct one star.

Wow! These look like a million bucks!
Wow! These are some heavyweight shears!! I have small hands but they’re still comfortable for me to use. Super sharp, look like a million bucks, and stood up well after cycling through the dishwasher. If you’re looking for heavy duty kitchen shears these are the ones for you!
